It was a chilly setting at Wilkes-Barre Area High School for yet another battle between NEPA’s equivalent to “twin cities” and it is likely that the wind and cold temperatures played a part in the slow start for both teams. Both teams struggled to get the ball moving, but towards the end of the 1st quarter, that all seemed to change. Treyvon Gembitski broke the scoreless tie, and it was show time from there. Wilkes-Barre was able, over the remaining 3 quarters, to put up 28 more points. Scranton simply didn’t have answers, and that was the story of the night. Final score was 35-7 Wilkes-Barre, they will play at home for the D2 AAAAAA title against the Williamsport Millionaires next week.
