District 3 Notes for York & Adams Counties

York-Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association (YAIAA) Division I action:

As the 5th seed in the Class AAAA District Playoffs, the Wildcats of Dallastown (9-2 overall, 7-0 league) hosted the number 12 seed Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 1 Black Knights of Hempfield (7-4 overall, 3-4 league) at Wildcat Stadium in the first round and the Wildcats were defeated 36-21. The Black Knights will host the number 4 seed Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division Panthers of Central Dauphin East (9-2 overall, 6-1 league) in the quarterfinals. Sam Kramer led the Black Knights rushing attack with 128-yards Including touchdowns of 1, 1, and 20-yards), followed by Devin Washington with 71 (including a 1-yard touchdown), Will Blair with 56, Dustin Walter with 5-yards, and David Martin with minus 3-yards. Quarterback Kramer completed 9 of 14 passes for 120-yards and 1 touchdown, 4 for 70-yards to Blair, 3 for 33-yards to Martin (including a 10-yard touchdown), 1 for 12-yards to Ben Sahd, and 1 for 5-yards to Walter, for the Black Knights. Stephen kicked 2 extra points, Kramer threw a 2-point conversion pass to Blair, and Walter ran in for a 2-point conversion, for the Black Knights. Dezmond Jones led the Wildcats rushing attack with 36-yards, followed by Addison Quinones with 26, Cade Gold with 19-yards, and Sharod Wilson with minus 2-yards. Quarterback Gold completed 19 of 42 passes for 277-yards and 3 touchdowns, 8 for 106-yards to Jakob Jansen (including touchdowns of 15 and 8-yards), 4 for 81-yards to Owen Ritter, 5 for 75-yards to Quinones (including a 50-yard touchdown), 2 for 13-yards to Kiwane Tarbet, and 1 for 2-yards to Wilson, for the Wildcats. Addison Quinones finished the season with 148 rushes for 1,159-yards and 13 touchdowns and also led the defense with 96 tackles, for the Wildcats. As the 15th seed in the Class AAAA District Playoffs, the Lions of Red Lion (6-5 overall, 5-2 league) visited the number 2 seed Berks Inter-County 1 Mustangs of Governor Mifflin (10-1 overall, 6-0 league) at Mustang Stadium in the first round and the Lions were defeated 49-7. The Mustangs will host the number 7 seed Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division Eagles of Cumberland Valley (9-2 overall, 6-1 league) in the quarterfinals. Wilson Fontanez led the Mustangs rushing attack with 200-yards (including 6 touchdowns for 23, 4, 15, 19, 3, and 37-yards), followed by Lucas Garner with 49 (including a 46-yard touchdown), Austin Baker with 38, Jan Johnson with 34, Corbin Dunnuck with 22, Aric Dupell with 23, Evan Pollock with 10, Shane Cannon with 8, Aaron Grill with 3, and Donovan Hardy with 3-yards. The Mustangs did not throw a pass in the game. Johnson kicked 6 extra points and Cole Fagley kicked 1 extra point for the Mustangs. Antwan Jackson led the Lions rushing attack with 43-yards (including a 13-yard touchdown), followed by Dalton Grove with 21, Kendrick Boyd-Gillespie with 4, Kenny Holloway with 2, Dan Waldrup with 2-yards, and Josh Donaldson with minus 1-yard. York-Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association (YAIAA) Division II action:

As the number 2 seed in the District 3 Class AAA Playoff picture the Bulldogs of West York (10-1 overall, 6-0 league) hosted the number 15 seed Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 3 Indians of Donegal (7-4 overall, 4-2 league) at Bulldog Stadium in the first round and the Bulldogs won 35-14. The Bulldogs will host the number 7 seed Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 2 Eagles of Cocalico (8-3 overall, 5-2 league) in the quarterfinals. Cadence Thomas led he Bulldogs rushing attack with 254-yards (including a 5-yard touchdown), followed by Stanley Ross Campbell with 89 (including touchdowns of 7 and 1-yards), Bret Kinneman with 83, Ryan Narber with 36 (including a 19-yard touchdown), Garrett Stauffer with 20, and Terry Cains with 7-yards. Quarterback Campbell completed 2 of 7 passes for 39-yards, 1 for 22-yards to Cains and 1 for 17-yards to Cash Gladfelter, for the Bulldogs. Cains returned an interception 78-yards for a touchdown and Brett Strickler kicked 5 extra points for the Bulldogs. So far, Ross has completed 72 of 138 passes for 1,563-yards and 11 touchdowns and leads the team in rushing with 1,319-yards and 22 touchdowns for the season. Bryce Sadler led the Indians rushing attack with 60-yards (including a 1-yard touchdown), followed by Connor Maxwell with 26, Austin Dimeler with 5-yards, and Connor Ness with minus 6-yards. Quarterback Ness completed 7 of 20 passes for 88-yards and 1 touchdown, 3 for 51-yards to Maxwell, 1 for 20-yards to Derek Mohr, 1 for 12-yards to Shirk Tanner, and 1 for 5-yards to Dimeler, and Maxwell completed 1 pass for 32-yards to Skyler Minnich, for the Indians. Maxwell returned a kickoff 91-yards for a touchdown, Daniel recovered a fumble and returned it 12-yards, Tanner recovered a fumble, and Dimeler kicked 2 extra points and intercepted a pass and returned it 1-yard, for the Indians.

As the number 6 seed in the District 3 Class AAA Playoff picture the Warriors of Gettysburg (8-3 overall, 4-2 league) hosted the number 11 seed Mid-Penn Capital Division Spartans of Milton Hershey (9-2 overall, 6-1 league) at Warriors Stadium in the first round and the Warriors were defeated 27-14. The Spartans will host the 14 seed Berks Inter-County Section 1 Blazers of Daniel Boone in the quarterfinals. Keonte Lucas led the Spartans rushing attack with 167-yards (including touchdowns of 66 and 39-yards), followed by Dontrece Tasker with 59, Qwasif Shabazz with 43 (including a 7-yard touchdown), and Tyeair Diggs with 39-yards. Quarterback Lucas completed 3 of 8 passes for 28-yards, 1 for 15-yards to Diggs and 2 for 13-yards to Keith Hunter, for the Spartans. Mark Johnson returned an interception 41-yards for a touchdown, Ellis Atkins intercepted a pass in the end zone, and Casey Harrington kicked 3 extra points, for the Spartans. Lane Sherman led the Warriors rushing attack with 42-yards, followed by Tyler Lampe with 18, Wade Laudeman with 17, Mitchell Hoffman with 2, and Dalton Lyons with 2-yards. Quarterback Jake Myers completed 15 of 23 passes for 185-yards and 2 touchdowns and Lyons completed 2 of 4 passes for 17-yards for the Warriors. Lampe caught 12 passes for 142-yards (including an 8-yard touchdown from Myers), Laudeman caught 3 passes for 34-yards, and Michael Ingalsbe caught 2 passes for 26-yards (including an 11-yard touchdown from Myers), for the Warriors. Myers threw a 2-point conversion pass to Lampe for the Warriors.

As the number 16 seed in the District 3 Class AAA Playoff picture the Golden Knights of Eastern York (7-4 overall, 3-3 League) visited the number 1 seed Mid-Penn Keystone Division Crusaders of Bishop McDevitt (11-0 overall, 6-0 league) at John H Frederick Field, Memorial Park, in Mechanicsburg in the first round and the Golden Knights were defeated 42-6. The Crusaders will host the number 8 seed Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 2 Barons of Manheim Central in the quarterfinals. Matt Geiger led the Crusaders rushing attack with 45-yards, followed by Andre Robinson with 42 (including a 21-yard touchdown), Nick Marsilio with 22, Tyron Gibson with 18, Vinny Salomone with 14, Que’Shawn Jenkins with 13, Tayvon Bowers with 4, Shalimar Artis-Payne with 4, Mustafa Blackston with 3, and Michael Jones with 3-yards. Quarterback Marsilio completed 8 of 9 passes for 200-yards and 4 touchdowns, 3 for 125-yards to Kyree Calli (including touchdowns of 61 and 53-yards), 1 for 51-yards and a touchdown to Tyrone Gibson, 2 for 36-yards to Kobay White (including a 24-yard touchdown), 1 for 20-yards to Bryce Hall, 1 for 6-yards to Chad Cortez, and 1 for 3-yards to Bowers, for the Crusaders. Robinson returned a punt 73-yards for a touchdown and Chris Mixon kicked 6 extra points for the Crusaders. Lucas Barshinger led the Golden Knights rushing attack with 100-yards (including a 4-yard touchdown), followed by Keegan Corwell with 99, Damian McKinsey with 8, Conrad Rhein with 6-yards, and Jimmy Kurnik with no-yards. Quarterback Rhein completed 1 of 3 passes for 9-yards to Corwell for the Golden Knights. York-Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association (YAIAA) Division III action:

As the number 2 seed in the District 3 Class AA Playoff picture the Eagles of Bermudian Springs, (11-0 overall, 7-0 league) hosted the number 7 seed Berks Inter-County Section 2 Panthers of Schuylkill Valley (5-6 overall, 3-3 league) at Eagles Stadium in the first round and rolled to a 42-0 shutout victory. The Eagles will host the number 3 seed Berks Inter-County Section 2 Spartans of Wyomissing (10-1 overall, 5-1 league) in the semifinals. Briton Shelton led the Eagles rushing attack with 99-yards (including touchdowns of 3, 26, and 6-yards), followed by Colton Dull with 87 (including an 11-yard touchdown), Michael Ogle with 37-yards (including a 1-yard touchdown), and Ryan Markle with minus 6-yards. Quarterback Markle completed 6 of 10 passes for 154-yards, 4 for 100-yards to Shelton, 1 for 42-yards to Ogle, and 1 for 23-yards to Wyatt Gearhart, for the Eagles. Brennan Waltermyer returned an interception 32-yards for a touchdown and Connor Zahm kicked 6 extra points for the Eagles. So far this season Ryan Markle has completed 44 of 89 passes for 984-yards and 10 touchdowns, Colton Dull has 1,351-yards and 22 touchdowns rushing, and Briton Shelton has 1,147-yards and 14 touchdowns rushing, for the Eagles. Edward Shuttleworth led the Panthers rushing attack with 97-yards, followed by Dillon Riley with 18-yards, Connor Sausser with minus 11-yards, and Justin Nawrocki with minus 14-yards. Quarterbacks Sausser and Riley completed 4 of 7 passes for 41-yards, 2 for 21-yards to Dustin Spatz, 1 for 12-yards to Riley, and 1 for 8-yards to Keegan Fouse, for the Panthers. Edward Shuttleworth finished his season with 1,482-yards and 23 touchdowns rushing for the Panthers.

As the number 8 seed in the District 3 Class AA Playoff picture the Canners of Biglerville (5-6 overall, 3-4 league) visited the number 1 seed Berks Inter-County Section 2 Saints of Berks Catholic (11-0 overall, 6-0 league) at Forino Sports Complex, Berks Catholic High School on November 7 at 7PM in the first round and the Canners were defeated 39-3. The Saints will host the 5 seed Tri-Valley League Buffaloes of Newport (9-2 overall, 7-1 league) in the semifinals. Emmanuel Lacey led the Saints rushing attack with 134-yards (including a 2-yard touchdown), followed by Isaac Lutz with 80 (including touchdowns of 6 and 64-yards), Marcus Wilson with 31, Todd Reedy with 21-yards, Joe Stiles with 1-yard, Marco Ramos with minus 2-yards, and Cooper Lutz with minus 5-yards. Quarterback Patrick Causa completed 7 of 8 passes for 166-yards and 3 touchdowns, 4 for 136-yards to Isaac Lutz (including touchdowns of 38, 30, and 24-yards), 1 for 20-yards to Tanner Pajakinas, and 1 for 10-yards to Lacey, for the Saints. Ross Pilliod kicked 3 extra points, Lacey intercepted a pass, and Dalton Hoagland, Lacey, and Reedy each recorded 1 sack, for the Saints. So far, Patrick Causa has completed 64 of 93 passes for 1,193-yards and 23 touchdowns for the Saints. Colton Sentz led the Canners rushing attack with 80-yards, followed by Sam Laird with 23, Ben Hurda with 12, Brady Mentzer with 9-yards, and Dayne Showers with minus 13-yards. Quarterback Hurda completed 4 of 12 passes for 36-yards, 2 for 20-yards to Sentz and 2 for 16-yards to Showers, for the Canners. Jorden Trostel kicked a 35-yard field goal, Brock Asper recovered a fumble, and Laird caused a fumble, for the Canners.

As the number 2 seed in the District 3 Class A Playoff picture the Fighting Irish of York Catholic (1-2 overall, 0-0 league) will host the number 3 seed Mid-Penn Capital Division Steamrollers of Steelton-Highspire (5-5 overall, 4-3 league) at York Catholic High School on November 14 at 7PM in the first round.
As the number 4 seed in the District 3 Class A Playoff picture the Squires of Delone Catholic (1-2 overall, 0-0 league) will visit the number 1 seed Mid-Penn Capital Division Lions of Camp Hill (8-2 overall, 5-2 league) at Seibert Memorial Park on November 14 at 7PM in the first round.

Mid-Penn Conference action

As the number 5 seed in the District 3 Class AAA Playoff picture the Mid-Penn Keystone Division’s Patriots of Red Land (8-3 overall, 3-3 league) hosted the number 12 seed Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 2 Golden Mules of Solanco (6-5 overall, 4-3 league) at West Shore Stadium at Cedar Cliff High School in the first round and the Patriots won 40-14. The Patriots will host the number 13 seed Berks Inter-County Section 1 Scouts of Conrad Weiser (7-4 overall, 3-3 league) in the quarterfinals. Phil Overton led the Patriots rushing attack with 213-yards (including touchdowns of 7, 11, 18, and 30-yards), followed by Justin Johnson with 60, and Garrett Scott with 28-yards. Quarterback Scott completed 6 of 6 passes for 88-yards and 2 touchdowns, 2 for 47-yards to Kyle Campbell (including a 14-yard touchdown), 2 for 20-yards to Joe Crocenzi, 1 for 13-yards and a touchdown to Briner, and 1 for 9-yards to Kyle Mowrey, for the Patriots. Chad Stout kicked 4 extra points, Tristian Lauk intercepted a pass, Chris Bigger and Brandon Seitz each recovered a fumble, Mowrey defended 2 passes, and Tyler Hodges caused a fumble, for the Patriots. So far this season Philip Overton has rushed for 1,652-yards and 24 touchdowns for the Patriots. Prosper Eguzouwa led the Golden Mules rushing attack with 72-yards (including a 68-yard touchdown), followed by Robbie Hassel with 47, Vincent Ortiz with 31, Noah McCardell with 16, Darren Whearry with 11-yards (including a 1-yard touchdown), and Troy Miller with minus 4-yards.
