What does your offense need to improve on from last year? |
We need to maintain the possession of the football and keep our opponent’s offense off the field. Third down conversions are a key, but more importantly, we need to get ahead of the chains on first and second downs. The other big thing will be how well our four new starters on the offensive line gel. They are the key to our passing and running game. |
What does your defense need to improve on from last year |
The two biggest area’s of improvement on defense would be pass coverage and not giving up the big play. Too often in 2018, we allowed our opponents to convert critical third-down plays in definite passing situations. We allowed too many touchdowns off of long runs or passes. The key to our success this season will be making our opponents drive the length of the field to score TD’s. |
What are your overall thoughts on this years team? |
We will have a very young and inexperienced team but a large number of skilled players on both sides of the ball. If we can stay injury-free and our offensive line can come together quickly as a unit we have enough speed and skilled athletes to give people headaches. The problem is we are either very thin at key positions because of experience on the varsity football field. |
