What does your offense need to improve on from last year?
We will need to replace two all-state players in OG Brock Gingrich and 5A State Player of the Year Noah Palm at QB as well as several other league all-stars. Carson Nash will step into the QB position where he will have returning starters Austin Vang and Steven Flinton in the backfield. We have several others, including senior Micah Ulysse who will help carry the ball. We return three starting offensive linemen who will hopefully help to continue the tradition of running the ball well. When we throw, we return several receivers who got varsity time last year, including returning senior starter Casey Bernhard.
What does your defense need to improve on from last year
Replacing our graduating seniors will be a challenge, but we had a lot of underclassmen who surrounded that senior group last year on our defense. Chuckie Drain started every game as a freshman, and he and returning 2nd team L-L Section Two DL Damien Wolf will help to anchor the defensive line. We return all three of our linebackers from a year ago (Luke Angstadt, Tyler Angstadt, and Austin Vang), so that should be a strength for us in the middle. Replacing Palm and Zahm at our safety positions will be difficult, but we have several defensive backs that we think can step into their big shoes, including returning starters Casey Bernhard, Steven Flinton, and Carson Nash.
