Coach Gingrich says: Jon has been a 2-way starter since his 9th grade year for us, and excels in 3-sports. Jon can play any position on the field, and that is the key to our team. Jon can block, run, and catch the ball at a high level, but he excels more on the defensive side of the ball. He will be a great Edge in college with his flexibility.
Why do you play football?
I love the sport and I love to compete.
It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?
I’m looking forward to coming together with my team to compete and win.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
Jason Kelce because I love his personality, I think he’s very authentic.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
My sophomore year, our first play of the season was a trick play where the QB tossed to a receiver who then threw me a vertical and we scored on the play, it was a great way to start the season!
What was last years season like for you?
I wish the season would have gone better for me personally, but I’m happy that our team made it to districts.
What are your goals for this coming season?
As a senior, I want to be a strong leader for my teammates and improve in all aspects of my play. My goal for our team is to advance further in districts than the last two years.

What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?
I got to see a game at Penn State this past fall which was great and something I had really wanted to do. I’d love to get to an Eagles game at The Linc.
What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?
Eagles
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
The Eagles Super Bowl win in 2018.
What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?
Remember the Titans, the movie is great, I like the actors, and knowing it’s a true story and learning about the people it was based on was really interesting.
If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?
This past season my dad was on the sidelines with me for the first time since midgets, I’m pretty sure most of the time he just told me to do my job. My mom was probably yelling for me to be careful.
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
Kick a field goal
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
My dad is my mentor, and I hope I can be like him in the future, he has coached me from the time I was very young in all sports. He gives back to the community through coaching, and really enjoys seeing kids improve and compete.
Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
I’d like to play ice hockey, but I can’t skate.
What is your most embarrassing sports moment?
There were a few times my freshman year when on kickoffs I would try to breakdown and slip and fall on my back.
Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?
My little cousins have been coming to see me play (Riley, Finnigan, Ainsley, Liam, Caleb, and Madelyn), it’s always nice to see them after football and basketball games and have them look up to me.
When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
Spending time with friends and family
What is your favorite football memory to date?
This past season we had a back and forth game with Kutztown, the last play of the game we were able to stop them deep in our own territory to win by one point – every one on the team contributed to that win.
What is your favorite play to run?
I like to run outside belly G because in my position I get to have a free run to block the linebacker.
What scares you the most?

What restaurant is your go to when you need a big meal?
The best place to get a big meal is at home when I can raid the cabinets.

Bethany Beach
Do you remember what the first football game you saw was?
On TV either a Penn State or Eagles game, in person was a Villanova vs University of Delaware game at Villanova.
