WORDS FROM THE HEAD COACH:

Spencer is the ultimate team player. He gives 110% effort in and out of season. HE has been a stable presence on offense and defense. He isn’t always a leader in the stat line but what he does is irreplaceable on the field.

What is the best part of being a student-athlete at Big Spring High School ?
The community that supports you at every event.

How long have you been playing football(any level) ?
I’ve been playing football for 7 years, going on 8.

Of all the road games you have played, which stadium had the best overall atmosphere, along with what made it so good ?
ELCO was a very nice place to play at. It also helped that it was a road playoff game.

If the game is on the line, do you want to be on offense or defense ? Explain
Though I am a big defense guy, I would want to be on offense. Only because the offense knows where they want to put the ball, the defense might not.

As an athlete, what has been your biggest achievement ?
My biggest achievement as an athlete was starting on Varsity as a Sophomore.

What was the high point of the 2023 season ?
The high point to the 2023 season was beating our rivals, Shippensburg and Boiling Springs, as well as making the playoffs.

What are you going to miss the most from the class of 2024 ?
I will most definitely miss the memories I used to make with the seniors.

What are your goals for the 2024 season ?
My personal goal is to have a big season and attach my name to many awards and recognitions. Our team goal is to win a District title, though it may seem lofty… we fully believe we are capable of accomplishing it.

Who is your favorite sports star and why ?
My favorite sports star used to be Jaylon Smith. He isn’t super known now, but he is a former Notre Dame and Cowboys player, which are my teams.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most ? Explain:
My favorite play was the first play on my highlights. It was a big hit for a tackle for loss on a screen pass against Camp Hill.

Who is the best player(s) you have ever lined up against and what team did they play for ?
The best player I have ever directly played against was Alex Erby. He played QB for Steel High and signed with Navy.

What stadium, (HS/College/Pro) would you love to visit for a game ?
I would love to go to a game at Neyland Stadium, that is such an amazing stadium.

What is your favorite Pro Sports team(any sport) ? Explain:
I am a big Cowboys fan.

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why ?
My favorite game I have ever played in was our road game against Camp Hill. It was a comeback overtime win against a really good team.

What sports movie could you watch every day if you had to pick one, and why ?
I would watch Hustle. It is a very inspiring movie.

Name one thing you’d love to do in football that may never happen ?
I would love to be on TV while playing football. But that may never happen.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
I would enjoy playing Lacrosse, however our school doesn’t offer it.

What is your most embarrassing sports moment ?
When I got hurdled my Sophomore year.

When you aren’t playing, practicing, or training for sports, what is your go to activity, and why ?
I like to hangout with friends in my spare time.

Which one, Sheetz, Wawa, or Rutters ? Explain:
Sheetz, they have really good Mozzarella sticks.

What is your favorite vacation destination ?
I really enjoy going to the Outer Banks in North Carolina.

Tell us something that you have a fear of ?
I am incredibly afraid of Alligators.

Favorite Fast Food/Burger place and why ?
I love to eat at Chick-Fil-A. They have very good milkshakes.

Have you ever been to a professional sports game, which ones ?
I have never been to a professional game.

NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAAF, NFL, Which league is the best and why ?
I think college football is the best. Each game just means so much week in week out.

What is your favorite video game, on mobile and or console ?
I enjoy playing Madden.

What toppings go on your favorite pizza ?
I typically only eat my pizza with just cheese.

Favorite School Subject ?
Science classes as a whole are my favorite.

Favorite Band/Musician ?
Morgan Wallen might be my current favorite.

Airplane, Boat, or Vehicle(motorcycles included), how would you travel and to where ?
I would travel by plane to Hawaii if I had the choice.

Name one thing in life(NOT SPORTS RELATED) you would like to achieve:
I would like to start a family at some point down the road.

Location you think would be the best place to live(ie: island, mountains, city, etc) ? Explain why:
The best place to live in my opinion would be the suburbs. Outside of the busy city, but not too far away from places.
