He was a sideline to sideline linebacker who made plays when we needed them. He returns as one of our senior leaders and is a potential all-league caliber player.
Let’s get to know Landyn!
Why do you play football?
Because it has taught me a lot of life lessons, and it has taught me to keep going and keep pushing even though times may get tough.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
My favorite sports star is Kobe, because of his mentality that he wouldn’t ever take a day off no matter what, and that he’d always give his best effort through health and injury.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
My favorite play that I remember most is probably my pick six from last year seeing all my teammates go for blocks to get me into the end zone was a feeling I’ll never forget.
What was last years season like for you?
Last season was good personally and statistically for me but made me hungry for more and want to go back to play playoffs and contend for a title.
What are your goals for this coming season?
My goals for this year are to be better than last year with statistics, but team wise to go and win a district title and state title.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
I don’t know who the best player I have ever lined up against would be, I just play the game and try and beat the team across from me.
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
My favorite game I’ve watched was the 2014 NFC Championship game because it was the Seahawks Vs Packers and the Seahawks were down the whole game but never gave up and kept playing and it led to the Seahawks coming back in overtime to win the game.
Describe what the perfect teammate is
The perfect teammate is someone who is accountable, a leader, and someone who is positive. I say those three characteristics because in life you have to be accountable for your mistakes that you made and have to learn from them. A leader because the team is definitely looking up to you and following what you do and how you present yourself and represent the program. Being positive is also a part of being a perfect teammate because you need to be able to support your teammates if they make a mistake and not break them down because of one mistake.
Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community
Football is good for the community because it brings a town together and it gives them something to root for right in their backyards every Friday in the fall.
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
One thing I’d love to do in football is to throw a game winning pass in the state championship.
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
My mentor is Coach Lambros and I say that because ever since my freshman year he didn’t rush my development and waited until I was ready to play on Fridays, and the way he leads our team everyday on and off of the field teaching me and my teammates valuable life lessons being young men.
Preseason Two a Days are:
Amazing but tiring because there’s a lot of practice in the heat but you get to spend time with your teammates and get to start building that bond with them.
Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?
Probably my grandparents because they are always there to support me and they got me into the sports I play now and I can always go to them if I have a question about football or wrestling.
When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
My go to activity is either playing video games or hanging out with family, because it’s relaxing and gives me time to connect with my friends online and interact with my family members
What is your favorite play to run?
My favorite kind of play to run is any kind of blitz and getting to run and hit the quarterback going for a tackle for loss.
Music of choice:
My music of choice would be country.
What is your favorite vacation destination?
Favorite vacation destination is camping with my family in the woods and I get to go out away from people and just work on football and have a good time eating s’mores around a campfire.
