Let’s get to know Isaac!
Why do you play football?
Football is a family legacy that I want to carry on, with my father playing at Appalachian State, I want to achieve what he has and make my family proud. Football is more than just a sport to me. It allows me to create a bond with my teammates.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
Kobe Bryant because he has a great work ethic and great mentality.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
My kick return touchdown against Steel High. It brought my team back into the game and I’ll never forget the atmosphere and the energy.
What was last years season like for you?
Last season did not go how I wanted it to go. Personal and team goals were missed but this season is different.
What are your goals for this coming season?
As a team I want to win districts and make a state run. Personally, I want to earn the caption position and lead my team and I also want to pass 1000 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
The best player I ever lined up against is myself. The mental battles this sport brings to you makes myself be my greatest opponent.
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
2017 Seahawks vs Panthers was the first NFL I went to watch. I was so excited and it was a good game and I got to watch my favorite team win on a field goal.
Describe what the perfect teammate is
The perfect teammate is someone who has your back no matter what. They will get on you when you mess up and make sure you do better. They will celebrate with you during your highs and lift you up during your lows.
Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community
Football teaches you to be a leader. It teaches you how to step up for my family and for my community. It also teaches you how to get through hard times.
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
Play with my best friends who graduated one last time.
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
My mom, she is hard working and provides and gets anything her family wants no matter how hard it is for her.
Preseason Two a Days are:
Preseason Two a days are humbling and show how much love I have for the game that I’m willing to fight through it
Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?
I consider my younger siblings my biggest fans. They come to every single one of my games and ask about the plays I made. They ask about my practice and want to know how good I’m doing.
When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
I like mini golfing. It is fun but competitive.
What is your favorite play to run?
When I’m isolated backside and it’s a 1v1 against the corner.
