Coach Says: Devon is our heart and soul. Despite his small stature, he plays big and is a huge component to our team and our leader. Looking forward to a great!

Why do you play football?

I play football because I fell in love with it at a young age. It started with my dad watching it all the time with the NFL and when I saw it I knew I wanted to play. So I played and ended up falling in love with it and just never even had a thought to stop playing.

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

I love TJ Watt on the Steelers. His aggression on the field and kindness off is what I love about him. He has given back to the community while dominating offenses on the field.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

My favorite play i remember the most would have to be from Jr High actually. It was a botched play off the start with a bad toss and I scooped it up with nearly the whole d-line coming for me and somehow I slipped through. In the end I made it all the way for a touchdown and it had to be at least 50 yards. I was so excited and it got my team so pumped up!

What was your toughest game in 2025 season?

Definitely Berks Catholic. I know alot may say Trinity but the loss to Berks just felt way harder than that. When you have a chance to win that section title just to lose it in overtime. That’s a feeling I never want to have again.

What are your goals for this coming season?

I would like to have 1000 yards and 100 tackles. For the team I would like us to win section and have an undefeated season.

Who is the best player you ever lined up against?

I would have to say Brandon Harris from Trinity.

What does the word “Coach” mean to you?

It means the man behind all of our success. He takes all the heat with not much glory but still keeps us together and pushes us to our limits. To clarify, not everyone will agree with a coach all the time. With a good coach though, you trust them to the end and they will bring you success in ways you never expected.

What is your favorite season of the year?

Fall 100%. I get football to play and watch, my birthday, Halloween, and the weather is perfect.

Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community

Football is the one sport where everyone is completely a family and must work as one. If one of us screws up we all pay in more ways than one. This can be through getting hit or just losing. This means we all come together as one and keep this community and each other strong as one.

Name a football player you’d love to line up against

I would love to go against Yama Navarro our other RB. Everyone says we are very similar so I believe it would be a great challenge.

Name a football player you’d love to line up with.

Deuce Vaughn since he’s as small as me and I’d love to see what he has that i need to work on.

What is your favorite practice drill? What is your least favorite practice drill?

I love when we do the one on one’s in two a days. Two players line up in front of each other in a three point stance and cant go sideways. You must either run your legs through or you get run through. My least favorite would have to be snakes. It feels like when you are jogging you try and catch your breath from sprinting, but then you have to go again. Its an insane workout for stamina so I hate it but also love it.

What school sport that you do not play in have you supported?

I’ve gone to a bunch of basketball games to be in the student section and be loud!

If you were to inherit 1 billion dollars what’s the first thing you’d do?

I would immediately give my parents each 200 million. They’ve raised me and made sacrifices i cant even imagine, so if I could retire them that would mean the world to me.

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and WHY?

My go to activity would have to be yard games with friends. I love to play cornhole, spike ball, whiffle ball, two hand touch football, and basically any other game you could think of. The competition but also fun of the games is what makes me love it.

What is your least favorite play to run?

I don’t really have a least favorite but I would have to say flood pass.

First thing you do when you leave the locker room or get off the bus after a game?

I go check up on my teammates I know had a rough game. Some of my teammates and friends are really hard on themselves. I make sure to remind them one game doesn’t define them as a player and athlete.

Music of choice:

Punk Rock or Alternative Rock

Best place in your town to eat after a game? Why?

I can always go for a good J and S pizza after a hard game. Its not the healthiest but it tastes so good. Also yes i get bacon on it.

Best pizza topping?

Bacon because you get that great flavor and a great crunch.

What is your favorite vacation destination?

I haven’t been there yet, but I would love to go to France. I say this becauee of the food there sounds so good. Trying all their food that I cant get here would be the best experience.

If you could attend any sports event for free what would it be?

I would love to go see a Pittsburgh Steelers game with my dad. He’s been a fan his whole life and so have I. Seeing a game with him would be a life long memory.
