Hazlewood’s two touchdowns power Altoona win.
LANDIS FIELD – The Altoona Mountain Lions flexed their strength on both sides of the ball Friday night, defeating Central Dauphin East 14-0 in a commanding performance that showcased discipline, grit, and a breakout game from senior playmaker Julian Hazlewood.
From the opening whistle, Altoona set the tone by controlling the clock and dictating the pace. The Mountain Lions’ offense steadily marched down the field, wearing down East’s defense with physical runs and sharp execution. On the other side, Altoona’s defense swarmed to the ball, shutting down big-play opportunities and keeping the Panthers off the scoreboard for all four quarters.
The difference-maker was senior No. 3, Julian Hazlewood, who rose to the occasion under the lights at Landis Field. Hazlewood found the end zone twice, giving Altoona all the points they would need. His ability to break through tackles and finish drives provided the spark that carried the Mountain Lions throughout the night.

While Hazlewood supplied the touchdowns, Altoona’s defensive unit sealed the win. The Mountain Lions consistently bottled-up East’s ground game forced hurried throws, and controlled field position, leaving little room for the Panthers to build momentum.
With the victory, Altoona not only added another win to their record but also sent a message: they can dominate games by owning time of possession, playing smart football, and leaning on their senior leaders to deliver in crucial moments.
