Rico Scott, #4 ranked in the state of Pennsylvania and #41 in the nation at WR committed to Alabama on April 16th, 2023. Rico Scott turned down offers from Penn State, Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn, Louisville, Michigan, Texas A&M, South Carolina, and thirteen other colleges to play at Bama under Nick Saban’s coaching. Scott becomes the second WR to commit to Bama out of Pennsylvania since 2000 and the fifth hard commit to Alabama out of the 2024 class.
In Scott’s junior year, he caught 66 balls for 1184 yards and 18 touchdowns on the year. He averaged 17.9 yards per catch and 84.6 yards per game with his longest of the year at 81 yards. While he only ran the ball 6 times, he was able to rack up 77 yards and a touchdown while running with the ball. In his two years of being at WR, he was able to achieve 1722 yards on 91 catches and 27 touchdowns in 28 games. Scott also returned some kickoffs at McDevitt in his sophomore and junior year. In his two years as a return man, he returned 11 kickoffs for 335 yards for 1 touchdown.
Bishop McDevitt recently won the State Championship in the 4A class in a 41-18 win. Scott caught the ball 41 more times for 646 more yards in his junior year vs his sophomore year with 9 more touchdowns. His senior year should be very impactful for Bishop McDevitt hoping to bring back another championship and will be looked at as the WR teams should double on every snap.
