When asked what his hopes were for his team, University of Kentucky commit and number 22 ranked QB in the class of 2025 Stone Saunders had this to say. “ I mean anything short of a State Championship for this group would be kind of a letdown. Last week I wasn’t at my best and the offense suffered, I could go on and on about my receivers and my O-line. I don’t need to be better for just myself but them too. That way y’all can see us December 8th or 9th at Chapman Field.”

“McD” would drive down the field with ease on drive number 1 using a mix of the run and pass, before sophomore tailback Maurice Barnes was able to answer the bell from just a yard out drawing first blood at the 10:21 mark.(PAT good 7-0 McDevitt.) “McD” forced a fumble on the ensuing Miffco possession, before a drive with Saunders completions of (18,4) would end with “Bama” commit Rico Scott score on an out route making  it 14-0 at the 9:25 mark. Nevan Hopkins would come up with an interception of Husky QB Landon Eichorn the next drive, setting up a 32 yard scoring strike to Rico Scott making the lead three scores with 8:17 to go. Another Husky 3&out would set up a 4th consecutive Mcdevitt TD drive, capitalized by Maurice Barnes’ second TD. Making it 28-0 before the 1st quarter had reached its conclusion.

The 2nd Quarter began like the first had ended, with another fruitless Husky drive culminating in yet another quick strike. Rico Scott would take a slant route 59 yards down to the 2, before Stone Saunders would find sophomore Gaige Ruth in the back of the endzone 35-0.(8:54). The highlight of the Huskies tonight was none other than Deakon Sheaffer, as he managed multiple kick returns to almost mid field, taking the kick back to the 42.  Parker Kearns was able to manage two catches on the drive not totaling enough for a 1st down, however, forcing another punt. Saunders then lead what ended up being the final scoring drive of the night, capitalized with a 10 yard TD strike to freshman Jontai Quick with 2:21 remaining in the first half.

The second half was a different story than the first however as both defenses managed to pitch a shutout with neither team moving the ball very well.  The final in Crusader land was Bishop McDevitt 42 Mifflin County 0.
