If you’re Manheim Township you like where you saw last night. If you’re central York you’re scratching your head and wondering what went wrong. The #7 Streaks used a powerful run game led by Declan Clancy along with some great pitch and catch plays by Carson Weisser to take down the third ranked Panthers 28-10 last night in Landisville. Clancy had 20 carries for 244 yards and two scores. “We didn’t abandon the game plan. We knew they are a good football team and were going to come out amped up. We just had to wearing on them and the train just kept going downhill” said Clancy of the win.
The Streaks got going early thanks to a 57 yard td catch and run by Weisser and Charlie Hill.

Central York fought back but they never were able to finish dries all night long. On the ensuing drive you got a 49 yard field goal from Matthew Parker to cut the lead to 7/3 with four minutes left in the first quarter. It wasn’t until late in the second quarter that the streaks would start to pull away. It was Justin Larue who got his first of three sacks on the night that set the tone. Two consecutive sacks of Panther quarterback Brookly Nase and a short punt that gave Township great field position, Clancy got his first of the night with the 23 yard touchdown run to extend the lead 14 to three.

“A beast” is how Township head coach Mark Evans described Clancy’s night. “One we figured it out and once we got going, we were a little slow starting up front and I think once the guys got the idea of what the speed was, once they figured it out I think they rallied and they did a good job up front and once you get Declan going downhill man look out”.
Larue got his second sack on the Panthers next drive on fourth down sending the home team into the locker room with a 14-3 lead. “Actually today yeah they (the defense of Township) were they pretty powerful and they kept their quarterback on the run and that was our goal and kudos to our defensive staff, we were doing a great job against special teams didn’t hurt us” said Evans of the defensive effort of his team.
Midway through the third quarter Weisser and Lex Haberbosch connected for a big 31 yard pass play to put the Streaks in scoring position at the Central York one yard line. Haberbosch went up and made a beautiful catch on the play. Taylor Veilleux plowed in from the one giving Township a 21-3 lead.
