Mechanicsburg beat West Perry 28-14 on Friday night at Mechanicsburg’s John H. Frederick Field.

Wildcats QB Micah Brubaker was 12/14 for 231 yards and two touchdowns.  He added 28 yards on the ground and two more rushing touchdowns in the victory.  RB Taylor Shearer added 79 yards on the ground on 16 carries and WR Rashawn Early-Holton caught 4 passes for 151 yards.

Eli Puchalsky and Marcus Quaker combined for 86 yards passing and 70 yards rushing for the Mustangs, and RB Seth Rosenberry added another 43 yards on the ground.

Quaker scored on a seven yard run with 4:21 to go in the first to put the Mustangs on top 7-0 after a 23-yard gain on a fake punt kept the drive alive.

Mechanicsburg answered right back with a 49-yard pass to Early-Holton, capped by a 5-yard touchdown run by Brubaker.

On the Wildcats’ next drive Early-Holton hauled in an 89-yard pass from Brubaker to put them on top 14-7.

Mechanicsburg’s Senior WR Nick Morrison then caught a 4-yard pass to put the Wildcats up 21-7.

West Perry’s Puchalsky punched in a 2-yard run to make it a one-score game, just before half.

Mechanicsburg lost the opening kickoff of the second half on an on-side kick, and the Mustangs marched the ball down the field, only to be turned away by the Wildcats and DE Tyree Morris on three straight plays from inside the five.

Mechanicsburg took possession on it’s own 1-yard line and marched 99 yards in 15 plays, using the rest of the 3rd quarter and the beginning of the 4th on the drive.  Micah Brubaker capped the scoring with a two-yard run, to put the game out-of-reach 28-14.
