Here are the teams from District 3 who have made it to the PIAA title game and their overall record in the championships.

District 3 has been strongest in Class AAA with three titles in the last five years. Add in a Quad-A title in 2011, the first in almost 20 years. However, there hasn’t been a dominant team in district over the years. No District 3 team has won more than two state titles.
District 3 title game notes:
- District 3 has only won one Class AAA title despite 7 appearances including four in the last five years.
- Bishop McDevitt has appeared in more title games than any other District 3 team and won one title, but it came in Class AA back in 1994.
- Class AA teams have never lost a championship game (4-0).
