LET’S GET TO KNOW WESLEY
Why do you play football?
I love the relationships it builds and the intensity the game brings is like no other game.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
George Pickens because I am a Steelers fan and he can make something happen on any play.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
Freshman Year in the 4th quarter of our playoff game, we were losing by 6 and I got an interception in the red zone to give our team a chance to tie the game.
What was last years season like for you?
It was one of the most enjoyable seasons I have been apart of. The team was all in and the energy we brought every game was incredible, we were all a family who went to battle for each other every single game. We started off 5-1 then dropped a few games and ended the last seed in the playoffs, but we went to Ephrata and gave them everything we had. We ended up losing by 1, but the energy there was a once in a life time moment.
What are your goals for this coming season?
Get First team all conference for both DB and WR, as well as be All state. Get at least 5 interceptions this year and break 75 tackles on the season. Also try to get above 500 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
I would have to say Rico Scott because the speed he has and the way he can make people miss makes him very hard to guard.
What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?
Beaver stadium on a white out game to experience the energy that it brings.
What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Cavilers
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
The game with the block six when Penn State beat Ohio State in 2016. This was my favorite because It was awesome to watch Penn State beat them.
Describe what the perfect teammate is
Someone who is willing to step up at any given time and be there for teammates when they need it the most. Willing to be a leader and praise teammates when there up and give the criticism when they do something wrong, but not disrespect them.
Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community
Football is a game where everyone can come together to watch the people they love or the school they love go to war for each other. The more people there is and the more noise the games have the more fun it is for anyone.
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
Taking a kick return back for a touchdown
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
Coach Costello because he is always positive and brings energy every practice. A great Coach that everyone loves to be around and have on the team.
What is your favorite practice drill? What is your least favorite practice drill?
My favorite is our “Falcon drill” which is just 3 people blocking with a runner and 3 defenders as linemen with a linebacker coming to tackle the runner. My least favorite is the pursuit drill but it is needed.
Preseason Two a Days are:
Long and intense, but very rewarding when the season hits and you notice the hard work from it showing.
Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?
My grandparents because they are always trying to be at my games if they can, and even watch it online to games they can’t make.
When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
Hanging out with my friends by playing more sports or just hanging out with them.
