Coach Hahn speaks with his team after their win

Behind Brycen Arnold’s legs in the first half and Zac Hahn’s arm in the second, Manheim Central took care of Warwick 47-13. Both juniors for the Barons combined for 5 touchdowns, with Arnold having two scores and Hahn throwing for 3 and running for 1. “Not a single person on this team has ever beaten Warwick” Zac Hahn “We needed to bring more energy in the second half, we were flat for a bit in the first half, we used everything we did throughout the summer for the final two quarters”.

The other junior would start things off with a bang for Manheim Central, when Arnold took the opening handoff from Hahn for an 80-yard touchdown (7-0). Warwick answered right back with veteran signal caller Jack Reed finding Thomas Jeanes for a 7-yard touchdown pass (7-6, PAT blocked). The Warriors had no answer for Arnold in the first two quarters on the ensuing possession he busted through the middled for a 50-yard score (13-6).

Moving into the second Quarter Warwick’s defense stood firm and got the ball back after a missed field goal. Reed and company march on a 10 play 80-yard drive capped off with another touchdown throw to Thomas Jeanes from the 19-yard line (13-13). Right before halftime when it seemed that the visiting team was figuring out how to slow down Arnold, Hahn got moving with his arm. With just a minute before half Hahn found captain Rocco Daugherty all alone in the back of the endzone for a 4 yard strike putting the Barons up 20-13.

The final two quarters were all Manheim Central as their swarming defense harassed Reed sacking him a total of 8 times. Offensively Hahn shook off a blatant facemask to find a streaking Sonny Callahan 55 yards for the score (27-13). Warwick could barely muster a first down in the second half as Hahn would account for two more touchdowns (one throwing, one rushing).

Hahn would hit Bode Sipel for a 26 yard touchdown pass late putting the final nail in the Warwick coffin. Final score from Manheim ended up at 47-13 for the home team, Brycen Arnold finished with 205 yards on the ground, he was more than happy to give the credit somewhere else “We are always excited to play these guys, it was all because of our offensive line they were awesome”.

Warwick drops to 2-3 on the year and will have to regroup quickly as they travel to state power (and the other section favorite) Exeter next Friday. Manheim Central remains undefeated at 5-0 welcomes Muhlenberg next. Coach Hahn was happy to get past this rivalry and proud of how his team finished “we played our style of football, especially in the second half, we did it and acted the right way”.
