
McDevitt TE Liam Fuller commits to UConn

Standing at 6-6, 230 pounds Bishop McDevitt tight end Liam Fuller would make a great target for any quarterback. The qb room at UConn has to be happy that the incoming senior has shut down his recruitment and committed to the Huskies. He made the announcement today on X:

Head Coach Jeff Weachter says “they’re getting a big kid, who’s athletic. He played basketball, has real good hands. and is improving his blocking every day. I truly believe his best football is ahead of him”. So far during his career he’s hauled in 20 passes for 182 yards and 6 td receptions.
We caught up with Liam to ask him about his decision:
PFN: Why did you choose to commit to UConn before your Sr season?
In the modern landscape of college football you have too
PFN: Who was your biggest influence there, who recruited you?
The tight ends coach (coach Peterson) but it was really the whole stagf
PFN: What are they getting in player like you?
Versatility within the position.
PFN: What was the recruiting process like for you?
It was crazy but I’m happy to have a home
PFN: Do you know what you’d like to study?
Political science
PFN: What role did your parents play in your decision?
They were huge because they want what’s best for me no matter what
PFN: What do you think is the most exciting thing about the program?
They are on the come up and they have a great coach
PFN: What are you most looking forward to while playing for them?
Competing in bowl games and joining a conference
PFN: Tell everyone out there in the football world something they’d never know about you until you told them:
I’m the best golfer on my football team
PFN: Who is the person who most influenced you in your football career?
My mom
Why do you play football?
Because it’s all I know and I love the game and the values it instills in me
What would you do to improve the recruiting process?
Take some of the pressure off it
PFN: What is it you’d like all your high school teammates and fans to know about your decision that you might have a hard time saying in person?
It was what’s best for me and I hope people can respect it
