Mechanicsburg – Mid-Penn Colonial Division Champs

The Mechanicsburg Wildcats are the Mid-Penn Colonial Division champions, their first since 2008, after defeating rival Northern York Polar Bears.

Senior quarterback Micah Brubaker again paced the Wildcats (8-1, 7-0), running for two touchdowns on 77 yards rushing and throwing for another in Mechanicsburg’s 21-7 win.

Brubaker was 20 for 32 passing for 352 yards, including a 38-yd touchdown pass to James Anderson (5 catches, 162 yards).  Nicholas Morrison caught another 7 catches for 100 yards.

Quarterback Jordan Heisey accounted for 146 of Northern’s 193 yards, rushing for 69 and throwing for 77 yards on 11 completions.

Defense was dominant in the first half.  While both teams were able to move the ball, the game remained scoreless until Brubaker scored on a 2-yd run with 1:18 left in the 2nd quarter.

Brubaker scored again in the 3rd quarter on a 16-yd run to put the Wildcats up 13-0 after a missed extra point.

Brubaker then found Senior WR James Anderson for a 38-yd touchdown pass in the 4th, and with the two-point conversion, extended the lead to 21-0.

Northern’s Zach Mowchan scored on a 4-yd run in the 4th to prevent the shutout.
