Penn Manor vs Warwick

On September 18, 2020, the Penn Manor Comets battled the Warwick Warriors on the field. The game began with ball possession by Penn Manor. After a complete pass by the Comets’ quarterback Luke Brass to Isaac Hostetter, the Comets’ had an incomplete pass resulting in Warwick’s possession of the ball. After a complete pass, Warwick had a first down on the 37 yard line. With 10:58 left in the first quarter, Warwick scored the first touchdown of the game. After Penn Manor received a flag for having too many people on the field, Warwick’s two-point conversion was good, resulting in a lead of 8-0.

The Comets received the ball with the kick off on the 20 yard line. After a hand off to Isaiah Stoltzfus, Warwick received a 15 yard penalty due to a face mask. After two more hand-offs made by the Comets, Brass had an incomplete pass, resulting in a second down. Hostetter completed the pass by Brass giving Penn Manor first and goal. Once it was third and goal, the Comets called a time out. With fourth and goal at the one yard line, the Comets received a touchdown ran in by Stoltzfus with 7:21 left in the first quarter. With a complete extra point, the new score of the game was 7-8 with a lead by Warwick.

Warwick received the ball next with a kickoff stopped by Comet’s JD Robinson. After another play of Warwick’s was stopped by Hostetter, the Warriors had a third down. On the next play, Penn Manor received a flag for pass interference. Warwick now was first and goal after Stoltzfus stopped the play. The second touchdown with an extra point by Warwick was made with 3:04 left in the first quarter.

Penn Manor started their play on the 20 yard line with a first down. After a flag by Warwick on Penn Manor for unsportsmanlike conduct, a pass was completed by Hostetter. The quarter ended with a personal foul on Warwick and a time out. The score at the end of the first quarter was 15-7 Warwick.

At the beginning of the second quarter, the Penn Manor Comets started with the ball. After a hand-off to Stoltzfus and a complete pass by the Comets, the Comets received a touchdown by Max Jesberger with 10:44 left in the second quarter. After the two-point conversion was unsuccessful, the score was 15-13 Warwick.

Once Warwick received the ball, there was a flag on Warwick for a personal foul. The Warriors followed this with a complete pass and hand-off stopped by Comets’ Hunter Hoffman. After this play, the Warriors called a time out. After two complete passes, Warwick was first and goal. On the third down at goal, Warwick scored their third touchdown with the extra point. With 7:18 left in the first half of the game, the score was 22-13 Warwick.

Warwick’s kickoff to the Comets was out of bounds resulting in the first down being on the 35 yard line. After a hand-off to Stoltzfus, Penn Manor received a flag. A fumble on the play recovered by Warwick resulted in a turn of possession. Warwick was now on the 41 yard line with a first down. Almost immediately after this, Warwick’s pass was intercepted by Comets’ Kyle Murr. With a complete pass to Murr, Penn Manor was now at third and six. Penn Manor called a time out and later lost possession of the ball.

Penn Manor now kicked the ball off to Warwick with a first down on the seven yard line. After two incomplete passes, a hand-off by Warwick resulted in a first down. After yet another incomplete pass, the Penn Manor Comet’s called a time out. A complete pass ensued followed by an injury time out. Warwick was positioned at first and goal when another injury time out occurred. With 0:25 left in the game, the Warriors received a touchdown with the extra point. The first half of the game ended with the score being 29-13.

The second half of the game began with a kick-off to Warwick on the 35 yard line. The next play by Warwick was a hand-off stopped by Comets’ Matthew Ruiz. An incomplete pass followed and the Warriors had to kick the ball off to the Comets. The kick-off to the Comets was out of bounds resulting in the ball starting on the 38 yard line. After a carry by Stoltzfus, there was a flag on the play by Warwick for a face mask. A fumble followed, which was recovered by Warwick. After a flag by Penn Manor, the Warriors had a first down on the 44 yard line.

Another flag on Penn Manor for holding occurred followed by another first down by Warwick. The Warrior’s hand-off was stopped by Ruiz, resulting in a five yard loss. After an incomplete pass by Warwick, the ball was kicked off to Penn Manor and received by Murr. Two carries by Stoltzfus followed plus a flag on Penn Manor for an illegal shift. With two more incomplete passes and a fourth down, the Comets called a time out. After the time out, the Comets kicked the ball to Warwick. A few complete passes by Warwick resulted in a touchdown with 2:01 left in the third quarter. With the extra point, the score was 36-13 Warwick.

Penn Manor received the kick off with Erik Hinkle. After a complete pass to Hostetter and a hand-off to Stoltzfus, Warwick called a time out. With another complete hand-off to Stoltzfus, the Comets now had the ball on the 44 yard line. The third quarter ended with a score of 36-13 with a lead by Warwick.

The final quarter began with possession of the ball by Warwick. After the Warwick quarterback was sacked by Comets’ Ben Weaver and an incomplete pass, the Warriors were on their third down. The Comets then received possession of the ball and had a first down on the 20 yard line. After a complete pass to Murr, a flag was on the play on Penn Manor for holding. An incomplete pass followed and then Warwick intercepted the ball. The Comets called a time out and immediately afterwards, Hostetter intercepted the ball and Penn Manor regained possession.

A hand-off by Stoltzfus resulted in a first down for Penn Manor. After a few incomplete passes, the ball was kicked-off to Warwick and received on the 47 yard line. A tackle by Hoffman ensued and then a complete pass by Warwick occurred. With 4:47 left in the game, Warwick received a touchdown. The extra point was good and Warwick led with 43-13.

The ball was then kicked off to the Comets and handed off to Stoltzfus. An injury timeout ensued and Penn Manor was on their third down. A complete pass to Hoffman resulted in the fourth down with four yards to go for the Comets. Penn Manor received a first down but eventually had to turn the ball over to Warwick. With the second down and four yards to go by Warwick, a tackle was made by Robinson. The game ended with the final score of 43-13 and a victory by Warwick.

On October 25th, 2019, the Penn Manor Comets lost to Warwick 52-29. Even though Penn Manor has been unable to beat this team recently, they are showing improvement in their score.
