TWIN VALLEY vs. SOUTHERN LEHIGH
PIAA District 3 – Class AAAA
League: Lancaster-Lebanon League – Section 4
Head Coach: Brett Myers
OVERVIEW
You would think that after graduating your two top scorers, Evan Myers and Evan Johnson, the Raiders of Twin Valley might have an off year. Not so fast! Since Brett Myers took over as head coach five years ago the Twin Valley Raiders have done nothing but win. Myers is known as a program builder and he’s also no stranger to championship games. With successful stints at Pottstwon and Middletown, where he took the Raiders to two title games, Myers began building a program at twin valley. The last three years the raiders have won consistently going 10-2, 9-3 and this year they are a perfect 14-0 and in the title game. Their closest challenge this year was last week versus Aliquippa, a four point win to advance to the state title game.
How they got to the title game:
2025 Twin Valley Schedule
Key Players:
QB Maverick Foster – Maverick is a solid quarterback. He’s thrown for 1,214 yards going 82 of 116 for a respectable 70.69% and 16 td passes.
RB Drew Engle – Engle is the main meal winner for the Raiders. He’s run for nearly 2,000 yards and visited the endzone on the ground 31 times. He’s a danger on defense and special teams as well
RB Lucas Myers – If Engle is the main meal winner, Myers brings home the bread, butter and crumbs. He’s rushed for 1,247 yards and visited the paint 24 times on the ground.
Wide Receivers:
Ben Grundy – Grundy is a weapon that Foster will use in key passing situations. He’s got 500 yards and 7 td’s to his credit as a wideout.
Chase Reilly, Patrick Shanahan, Dom Summers and Jayce Oliver have combined for over 600 yards and 7 tds.
Keys to winning on offense:
Twin valley has to do what they do best, drive drive drive. Keep the ball in the hands of drew angle and Lucas Myers and out of the hands of a potent southern Lehigh offense. Ball control may sound cliche but it’s gonna be very important for the Raiders to establish dominance on the line. The Spartans are very good at creating turnovers so ball handling and pass placement will have to be an emphasis for this offense. Southernly high can score and has a solid defense but when you average 51 points per game you just have to stick to your game.
Keys to winning on defense:
This one’s gonna be pretty simple, they need to know where Sean sticker is lining up at all times. Stecker is the bread and butter for this team and can score from anywhere on the field. Pass coverage is going to be key and they’ll need to get pressure on Sam’s when he drops back to pass.
