Schuylkill-Colonial League Preview and Predictions for Week-3 ! Game Highlights

Schuylkill-Colonial League Week-2 Review:

Week 2 saw some mild upsets and a couple scores that I for one did not see coming. The big one I definitely didn’t see coming was Palisades taking down Wilson by a score of 31 to 6. The next one, I thought could go either way but chose wrong, was Blue Mountain losing to the Spartans 21 to 0, and my other shock score had to be Schuylkill Haven defeating a good Green Wave team 34 to 7. Other action last week saw some good games like Northern Lehigh avenging last years loss to Northwestern Lehigh 31 to 30, winning last week 34 to 27 and Minersville taking down a much improved Colts team 20 to 12. Pottsville is looking down thus far, going 0-2 and being outscored 104 to 12 by Jersey Shore and Wyomissing.

Outlook and Prediction:
Mahanoy Area enters the game winners of their first two games, Ben Manley and Colm McGroarty lead the offensive charge with 201 rushing yards for McGroarty, and 219 for Manley. Manley is coming off a big weekend on defense as well as he racked up 11 tackles(2 TFL) against Pen Argyl. The Panthers come in on the heels of a loss to a very good Tri-Valley team, losing 48 to 0. Michael Pascoe lead the way offensively for the Panthers with 79 yards passing and 80 yards passing for a total of 282 rushing yards over 2 games. In this game, I just feel the Golden Bears have too much for the Panthers.
Prediction: Golden Bears by 6

Tamaqua – Conner Dillon(Jr)-(RB/WR/DB) – 5’9 160lbs

Outlook and Prediction:
The Crusaders are coming into game following a loss to Southern Lehigh 29 to 28. NDGP racked up around 350 yards in total offense however in the loss. Danny Darno leads the way offensively with 553 yards in all, while Josh Ludlow isn’t too far behind with 381. Tamaqua will enter winners in their last game 32 to 29 over Lehighton. Luke Kane leads the charge with 333 yards in total, 300 of which is through the air, and Conner Dillon, the main target with 313 yards in all, 200 receiving and 100 plus rushing. This game could get very offensive quickly.

Outlook and Prediction:
Bangor comes into this game winners of 2 in a row to start the season, and winners in last years contest 35 to 14. The Slaters are looking to go 3-0 for the first time since the 2012 season. Not only will the Spartans have to contain quarterback Eric Striba, Ashton Kluska provides much quickness as he showed on Thursday night, ripping off 101 yards and scoring three times against Jim Thorpe. Southern Lehigh isn’t no slouch however either, taking down a very good Crusaders team Friday night. I just feel the Slaters come up big in this one, keep momentum rolling.
Prediction: Slaters by 13
