In the second half, Shippensburg leaned on its ground game. On a crucial 3rd-and-goal, #3 Jayden Hernandez powered his way across the goal line, putting the Greyhounds back in front 16–13.
The deciding blow came late in the game, when running back Mark Carothers punched in what would prove to be the game-winning touchdown. Lower Dauphin had one last chance to tie it up with a 45-yard field goal attempt in the final seconds, but the kick came up short.
