With the win, Head Coach Bob Wolfrum, who has been the Spartans coach for the last 36 years, and 1 year shy of 50 with the program, recorded his 348th career win, tying him with Manheim Central Head Coach Mike Williams for most wins in District III as Head Coach. But this day wasn’t just all about Coach Wolfrum as the Spartans were looking to get back to the District championship game for the fourth time in four years. Wyomissing’s defense would set the tone quickly forcing Hamburg to punt on three and out. Just 3 plays later, Spartans RB-Charlie Mcintyre would rumble in from 16 yards out putting Wyomissing in front 7 to 0. Hamburg would sustain a decent drive on their next possession going 9 plays before Logan Hyde, a junior would step in front of the Menapace pass and race to the endzone for the pick-6, and add to the Spartan lead, giving them a 14 to 0 advantage about midway through the first quarter. The Hawks couldn’t seem to get nothing going on their next drive when tackles for loss by Ryker Jones and Charlie Mcintyre would have the Hawks looking at a 4th and 8 when on the punt, a roughing the kicker penalty would negate the punt, however, it still wasn’t enough for the first down, and the Hawks would re-punt, and get it to the Wyomissing 30.

The Spartans would run 8 plays before the first quarter would end with the Spartans leading 14 to 0 going into the 2nd quarter and with the ball looking at 3rd and 19. Two incomplete passes would see Hamburg get the ball on a turnover on downs at the 34. The Hawks would fumble two plays later and the Spartans had the ball again at the Hawks 35. Just 3 plays later, Matthew Kramer would take off for 29 yards for the score, putting the Spartans up 21 to 0 with 10:42 to go till halftime.

Wyomissing would score again after the defense would hold the Hawks to another three and out, a short punt would have the Spartans starting their drive in Hawks territory at the 44. Six plays, and 3 minutes later, we had ourselves a 28 to 0 game after Ryker Jones took the handoff, ran right and towards the endzone for 8 yards and the score with 6:33 still to go in the opening half.

The Hawks would finally get on the board with :37 seconds left in the half following a long 17 play drive that lasted just under 6 minutes, when senior QB-Xander Menapace would race left to the endzone, giving Hamburg some momentum going into the locker-room at the half trailing the Spartans 28 to 7.

Wyomissing would get the ball to start the second half and wasted no time adding to their lead going 63 yards on six plays, led by Matthew Kramer who carried 5 times on the drive, finishing it off with a 2 yard run for his second touchdown of the game, giving the Spartans a 35 to 7 lead with 9 minutes to go in the third quarter. Wyomissing would get another score just three minutes later when the Spartans would recover a Hawks fumble at the Hamburg 21 yard line, and five plays later, Drew Eisenhower gave Wyomissing a 42 to 7 lead following his 12 yard touchdown run. It would be 49 to 7 following the next Spartans drive when they would go five plays in three minutes capped off with a 6 yard touchdown run by freshman RB-Chase Eisenhower with 1:06 to go in the quarter. That touchdown would be the sixth different player to score a touchdown for Spartans on this day.

There would be one score in the fourth, and that would come from the Hawks, when they would go 71 yards on a very impressive 16 play, 7:30 minutes off the clock, finished off with a 9 yard touchdown pass from Menapace to Ty Werley to make the score 49 to 14 with 4:31 to go in the game. A kickoff return by Chase Eisenhower setup at the 50 with 4:16 to go and a few plays later, the Spartans would kneel twice and the we had a final score of 49 to 14 Wyomissing winning and advancing to their 4th straight District III Championship game next week, which will be a home game against the West Perry Mustangs(11-1), who defeated (10-1)Lancaster Catholic 63 to 20 on Friday night.

The Spartans held Hawks senior RB-Pierce Mason, to 66 yards on 16 carries, and would finish the season with a program-record 1,340 yards. Wyomissing would also limit the Hawks senior QB-Xander Menapace to 123 yards passing on 17-of-29 passing, with 1 INT for a pick-6. Wyomissing would rush for around 250 yards on the ground, led by Charlie Mcintyre and Matthew Kramer who combined for 162 yards on 16 carries, scoring 3 touchdowns between the two.
