Steetlon-Highspire took down Fort Cherry in convincing fashion to capture yet another State Title.
Steelton-Highspire entered the game boasting a perfect 15-0 record, and one of the best offenses in the state. Their offense averages over 45 points per game and usually can pull away early into the games. Many would expect a close game against the also undefeated Fort Cherry Rangers, Steelton-Highspire had other plans
The “Erby” Era has treated Steelton-Highspire tremendously well, this year was no different. The Steelton-Highspire rollers have now won 3 State Titles in 4 years and have asserted themselves as one of the premier teams in the state.
Their QB Alex Erby is statistically the best QB the state has ever seen. His expectational 4-year career was capped off the right way with a huge performance in his final game. His Brother, Andrew, is a 3-star recruit on his way to Ohio after High School. And the brains of the operation, Andrew Erby Sr, has coached Steelton-Highspire to another state title appearance.
Steelton-Highspire won the toss and elected to receive, and they were off. Just over 3 minutes into the game and Alex Erby got Jaeion Perry on a jet pass and the rollers led by 7.

After the Rollers defense stopped Fort Cherry on their inaugural possession, Steelton-Highspire got the ball back and were primed to score again. Once again, another jet pass from Erby, this time to Nazier Fuller to give Steelton-Highspire an early 14-0 lead. This TD pass was Erby’s 58th of the season and a state record for Pass TDs in a single season.

Steelton-Highspire had full control at this point. Already up by 21, their defense continued to dominate and give the offense opportunities. Of course, Erby and the offense would take advantage. Once again Erby was able to get it to Nazier Fuller to give Steelton-Highspire a 28-0 lead with over 4-minutes left in the opening half.

Steelton-Highspire would score again with a Erby TD pass to Durrell Caesar Jr before the half, and led 34-0 over Fort Cherry at Half.
Both teams traded scores at the end of the game and the final score was Steelton-Highspire 42 Fort Cherry 8.
The Rollers dominate their way to another class 1A state title, and in mercy-rule fashion. QB Alex Erby and OL/DL Andrew Erby Jr played their final HS game of their career and with their dad HC Andrew Erby Sr.
Alex Erby said, ” It felt great to finally have a good state title game statistically. It’s been a long time coming.”
For Steelton-Highspire and the seniors, they are able to ride off into the sunset as Class 1A champions after a perfect 16-0 season.
