Final scoreboard from E’ville.“We’ve just gotta start grinding and get ready for next week”. The quote from Kent Smeltz as he emerged victorious on his home field over division foe Juniata. A defensive battle from the very beginning following an opening drive TD from UDA and a sneak from Aaron Kanagy the score was knotted at seven apiece. A defensive battle in every sense of the word, was taking place until Aaron Kanagy would cash in from a yard out early in the third. A blocked PAT left it 13-7 Juniata.
Juniata would maintain the lead until we hit the 5:52 mark in the game when Alexander hepler barged in from a yard out, and an Isaiah Dyer PAT knotted it up 13 a piece. UDA would take the lead for good a minute later when Aidan Ritter took a tipped ball 3 yards to the house and a PAT made it 20-13.
Juniata was not going to go down without a fight however as they drove down to the 4 with 21 seconds left. A bad exchange on a Seth Laub handoff resulted in a turnover and a UDA W.
