RB Aidan Mencia carries for a game winning 2-pt conversion on the games final play.

Waynesboro Senior QB Louie Lindsay threw a 45-yd touchdown pass as time expired to WR Brody Rhodes and RB Aidan Mencia converted a two-point conversion to beat Mechanicsburg Friday evening in a Mid-Penn Colonial matchup at Waynesboro Senior High School.  Waynesboro (7-2 overall, 5-1 division) solidified their spot in the District 3 playoffs with the win.

Mechanicsburg started the scoring on the last play of the first half with a hook and ladder for a 45-yard score.  QB Jeff Lougee hit WR Seth Brubaker who flipped the ball to Daniel Francis, who ran the final 20 yards for the score.  The extra point was no good and the Wildcats (5-4, 3-3) went into the half leading 6-0.

Waynesboro struck first in the 2nd half on a 3-yard pass to TE Jesse Julias, taking a 7-6 lead.  The Indians followed this up with a 37-yard TD pass from Lindsay to WR Rhyan Day.  After a failed extra point, Waynesboro led 13-6.

Mechanicsburg then found its running game behind Junior FB Sage Thomas.  Thomas led the Wildcats down the field on two consecutive drives culminating in scores of 3 yards by Lougee and 1 yard by Seth Brubaker, putting Mechanicsburg up 20-13 with 6:41 left.

Waynesboro got the ball back with under 1 minute to play on their own 20 yard line.  They got the ball to the Mechanicsburg 45 yard line with 0:00.1 seconds left on the clock when Lindsay heaved a pass the length of the field which Rhodes brought down for the TD, making the score 20-19.  Aidan Mencia then scored on the 2-point conversion to give Waynesboro the 21-20 win.
