York-Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association (YAIAA) Division I action:

The Mustangs of South Western (5-2overall, 3-1 League) were edged by the Wildcats of Dallastown (7-0 overall, 4-0 league) 29-21 in a thriller in league action. The Wildcats gained 241-yards rushing and 45 yards passing for a total of 286 yards gained. Quarterback Cade Gold completed 4 of 8 passes for the 45-yards, 2 for 32-yards to Jake Jansen, 1 for 11-yards to Anthony Garcia, and 1 for 2-yards to Connor Moore, for the Wildcats. Gold led the Wildcats rushing attack with 20 carries for 133-yards (including touchdowns of 2 and 54-yards), followed by Zion DeVance with 14 carries for 46-yards, Dillon Callahan with 7 for 44-yards, Jake Garrity with 6 for 17-yards (including a 2-yard touchdown), Jack Marks with 1 carry for 1-yard and Jansen with 1 carry for no yards. Drake Pew kicked 3 extra points, Brett Smith threw a 2-point conversion pass to Jawaun McMillian, Jansen intercepted 2 passes (including one in the end zone as time ran out in the game), and William Reilly recovered a fumble, for the Wildcats. Thomas Merkle has added to his school career passing yardage record, which now stands at 4,441-yards. Merkle has 3 regular season games left to chase the YAIAA career passing yardage record of 4,894 set by Matt Marshall from Spring Grove in 2006. Jaydon Haynes led the Trojans rushing attack with 16-yards, followed by Dajour Henderson with 15, Travis Edwards with 10, Thomas Merkle with 4, Teague Hoffman with 3-yards (including a 3-yard touchdown), and Collin Mailman with minus 9-yards. Quarterback Merkle completed 23 of 34 passes for 233-yards and 2 touchdowns, 8 for 105-yards to Collin Mailman (including a 5-yard touchdown), 8 for 85-yards to Brad Smith (including an 11-yard touchdown), 3 for 23-yards to Hoffman, 2 for 12-yards to Colin Deardorf, and 2 for 8-yards to Henderson, for the Trojans. Jordan Laughman led the Nighthawks rushing attack with 190-yards (including touchdowns of 11 and 10-yards), followed by Justin Barnes with 132, Nick Seymour with 5-yards, and Kyle Krout with minus 4-yards. Quarterback Krout completed 15 of 23 passes for 182-yards and 3 touchdowns, 3 for 59-yards to Hunter Martz (including touchdowns of 9 and 17-yards), 3 for 34-yards to Bill Morris (including a 27-yard touchdown), 1 for 24-yards to Colton Ehrhart, 1 for 15-yards to Barnes, 2 for 14-yards to Luis Lara, 1 for 9-yards to Austin Bryson, and 1 for 5-yards to Seymour, for the Nighthawks. Ashton West led the Eagles rushing attack with 90-yards (including touchdowns of 6 and 4-yards), followed by Chase Dull with 66, Devon Hodgen with 23 (including a 9-yard touchdown), and Addison Wheeler with 12-yards. The Mid-Penn Keystone Division’s Patriots of Red Land (2-5 overall, 0-3 league) were defeated by the Mid-Penn Colonial Division’s Bulldogs of Big Spring (4-3 overall, 1-2 league) 21-7 in non-league action. Tristan Robb led he Bulldogs rushing attack with 109-yards, followed by Ryan Adams with 90 (including a 2-yard touchdown), Jaret Petty with 64, and Ethan Lee with 7-yards (including a 1-yard touchdown). Quarterback Petty completed 3 of 5 passes for 33-yards and 1 touchdown, 1 for 16-yards and a touchdown to Garrett Chestnut, 1 for 10-yards to Adams, and 1 for 7-yards to Matt Coyle, for the Bulldogs. Noah Keiter kicked 3 extra points for the Bulldogs. Justin Johnson led the Patriots rushing attack with 89-yards, followed by Jake Radic with 13-yards, and John Greene with no yards.
