Let’s get to know Parker!

Why do you play football?

I grew up in an athletic background, my dad Tim Persing got drafted my the Minnesota twins to play professional baseball, and played multiple years in the minor leagues, I’ve always wanted to grow up in his footsteps and achieve great things and sports is a big part of that. I always watched football when I was younger and just from watching it, my passion for the sport started to grow, I began playing when I around around 5 and since then, there’s no sport that compares to the intensity and level of the game of football. The environment on Friday nights is something I believe every athlete should want to be a part of, one of the main reasons why I love the sport

It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?

The thing I’m looking forward to the most is definitely just being able to get back on the field again with my teammates, and showing everyone how great our team really can be.

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

Dak Prescott, I grew up liking the cowboys, and Dak Prescott became one of my favorite athletes after hearing about everything he went through and battled on his way to becoming a professional athlete. He lost both his mother and brother, and still showed that you can get through anything no matter how hard it is. Ever since then it changed my whole perspective of things, not just in athletics but in life.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

Last years district semi finals playoff game, when we ran a qb sneak on 4th and 1 and I broke free for a 40 yard run and we scored the next play to tie the game

What was last years season like for you?

Last years season for me showed how great our team can be, my freshman and sophomore year we were one of the youngest teams and we finished 1-9 both seasons. Last season we finished the regular season 7-3 and had a huge improvement. I feel like I grew a lot mentally as a player and started understanding more of the game, and also put more time into offseason work

What are your goals for this coming season?

My goals for next season is to be selected as an all state player, and to also win a district championship

Who is the best player you ever lined up against?

Austin Johnson from Muncy, he’s commited to Oklahoma state for wrestling, fastest and strongest player I’ve ever competed against

When the game is on the line, which college/professional coach would you like to call in the play?

Steve Sarkisian

What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?

Mississippi State

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?

Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees, LA Lakers

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

Penn state vs USC in the 2017 Rose bowl game, one of the highest scoring and most entertaining games I’ve seen

What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?

Greater, always has been one of my favorites, I believe it’s my favorite because it’s based on a true story and shows how much work and dedication you need to put in to become a great athlete, and also shows that you have to have perseverance

If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?

Something I need to fix or do better on

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

Play at a professional stadium

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?

My dad, he constantly pushes me to be better and never stay satisfied, and that you can always improve on something

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:

I would love to actually be able to play golf as a sport

What is your most embarrassing sports moment?

When we were playing our biggest rival Muncy in the rain last season and I slipped multiple times in the middle of the field

Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?

Brayden Strouse, he was a coach of mine and also a friend, I grew up watching him when he played for our high school and I was still in elementary school, he taught me all the basics of football and helped me grow in ways I may never have.

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?

Golfing, I find golfing very peaceful and calming(sometimes it can be stressful)
