Coach says: “Jackson Albright is the anchor of our O-Line and D-Line. He was leader of our O_line which rushed for over 2k yards and we passed for over 2k yards. He was the big reason for that and has the size and quickness at 6’5 295 lbs. He plays a major factor on the D-line and teams have to game plan and have him accounted for”.
Let’s get to know Jackson!
Why do you play football?
Making a great play sparks a fire in me unlike anything I have ever felt before.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
JJ Watt as both his work ethic and character are phenomenal.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
Last season’s game against Muncy at home. I tackled the running back for negative yards and prevented a game changing touchdown.
What was last years season like for you?
I just started playing football as a freshman. Growing up I was a competitive swimmer and really didn’t know much about the game of football. I got into a few games as a freshman but last year, during my sophomore year, I started on both sides of the ball. My sophomore year was eye opening, exciting and solidified by goal of playing Division I football.
What are your goals for this coming season?
To be dominant each and every play, continue to improve my lineman technique and knowledge of the game. My other goal is for my team to get even farther in the playoffs this year.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
Austin Johnson
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
Loyalsock beat Warrior Run during the regular season and unfortunately I was not able to play due to having pneumonia. It ate away at me that I was unable to play during the regular season game and felt I let my team down. I entered that playoff game with the mindset I was going to do whatever it took to win that game and it felt incredible to walk off that field as in the second half we dominated and won 21-7.
Describe what the perfect teammate is
The perfect teammate is a leader, heart of a competitor, and someone that always hypes his teammates up.
Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community
Seeing our community fill the stadium on a Friday night is incredible. Football allows the community to come together and passionately support a common goal. My team wears our jerseys on Fridays and we go to the elementary school to greet and welcome the students off the bus in the morning. It is awesome to build the connection with the youngest in our community and get them excited about coming to the game as well.
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
Catch a touchdown
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
Rob Oshinskie, owner of Victory Sports & Fitness. I am honored to train under his expertise. He has transformed my body and dramatically improved by flexibility and agility. Rob is incredibly knowledgeable, hardworking, and positive. He has really impacted my life and I enjoy training and learning from him. Rob believes in my goals and helps me in everyway possible to obtain them.
Preseason Two a Days are:
Grueling but I’ve grown to like them as it builds incredible team unity.
Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?
My grandfather, I call him Buck. Buck is my #1 fan. Last season Buck was battling cancer and Monday-Friday received cancer treatments at Johns Hopkins. He would get in the car after treatment on a Friday and immediately come back to PA and be present at all of my games. Buck believes in my goals, pays for my training and checks in with me daily to make sure I am trying my best.
