In his two years starting as a starting linebacker for Danville, Landon Kehoe has racked up an impressive 147 tackles, 21 for loss. That was apparently good enough for the coaching staff at ODU to pay attention to him. On Thursday Kehoe shut down his recruitment and locked in with the Monarchs, pledging his commitment to play for them after his senior season. He also held offers from Temple, UPenn, Cornell, Lafayette, Villanova and JMU.
Danville Head Coach Carl Majer has had nothing but praise for the incoming senior. Last year following their playoff win over Bermudian Springs, Majer said “he’s one of the best players I’ve ever coached. The ODU coach came up here and kinda put him on trial and watched him perform and they offered after he went to their camp. He deserves it, he puts in the time. For us he’s an impact player, he puts the team on his shoulders. Gonna be a leader for us. Great student athlete. Works hard. He learns very fast and is very coachable”.
