Elijah Jordan had him a night. The Bulldog quarterback carried Jersey Shore to a dominating win over Selinsrove.  The senior quarterback threw for 320 yards and ran the ball 12 times for 97 yards, taking part in five Bulldog touchdowns leading the Shore to a 55-21 win. Jersey Shore piled up a whopping 562 yards on offense, 330 coming through the air.

Gravish was happy to see Jordan have a break out game. “He’s played like that in practice and we’ve always emphasized that you’re probably going to play the way you practice. So, you make the best of practice and he plays like it’s a game. Hats off to him, hats off to Carson Watkins. “I like how (Elijah Jordan) is keeping his eyes downfield in the pass game. He could have taken off a couple of times and gotten eight yards. He keeps his eyes downfield and makes a bigger play.”

It took a while for the bulldog offense and defense to get into the game but once they did they dominated. She owns Grove actually open the game with the first score. After Jersey Shore mark the opening kickoff and was pinned deep they were forced upon. The seals drove 54 yards on their opening drive and capped it off with a three yard run by Ethan Miller giving the seals A7 nothing lead with 6:47 left in the first quarter.

It was that touchdown that seemed to motivate the Bulldogs. On the next Bulldog drive Jordan led the team downfield 79 yards where Brody Herr was able to cross the goal line from 2 yards out. The kick was good and the score was tied at 7.

The dog defense then took over the game. Led by the three Sechrist brothers, they forced Selinsgrove to punt on their next 4 possessions. The Bulldogs scored on all but one of the ensuing drives. Thanks to consecutive sacks, the Dogs got the ball back at mid field. Jordan took off on a 20 yard run and capped that drive with a two yard touchdown run, And on the following drive Jordan scored from 15 yards out after a great punt return (one of just a few bright spots for the Jersey Shore special teams unit), for a one play drive making it a 20-7 Bulldog lead. (the kick was blocked).

“Absolutely. We got good pressure,” said Gravish of his teams defense. “For the most part in the first half we played good defense against the run.  Miller is the kind of running back to get loose on a lot of people. He’s tough. Our guys did a really good job with that.”

Then from their 13 yard line Jordan hit Evan Snyder from 13 yards out. Jordan ran the two pointer in to make it 28-7 with 3:16 left in the half. If you’ve ever seen Jersey Shore play, you’d know they’re extremely up tempo and fast moving on offense.

Once again the Bulldog defense forced a three and out series for the Seals and, with 1 minute left in the half, Jordon led the Bulldogs to the endzone. He carried three times for 23 yards then hit Paul Hale for a 30 td pass to end the first half.

In his final possession of the game, Jordan found Carson Watkins for a 35 yard td pass to invoke the mercy rule.

The Seals managed two more scores, one on a 59 yard pass from Rocco Amato to Gavin Bastian and a 79 yard run by Andrew Gesumaria. Nolan Pauling, who took over the quarterback duties for Jordan, ran for 113 yards and two scores. Gravish said “He’s been doing it in practice and there’s a couple of other places he can do some things for us,. We were just happy to get all of those kids in. We had at least 18 or 20 freshmen play almost a whole quarter of football.”
