In 2017 he returned three interceptions for points, caught 7 td passes to go along with nearly 650 yards receiving while missing 2 1/2 games, is currently sitting on 106 catches for 1,949 yards, 21 receiving tds and 30 tds overall (stats Chris Masse) and scored those 30 in five different ways.Lewisburg is 2-0 for the first time in 3 years (his freshman year) and is a serious contender for the district 4 crown thanks in a big part to his contributions and expected play in 2018. Wide receiver Dylan Farronato can now claim one more stat, he’s the second D4 player to commit to a division 1 school. (Treyson Potts/Minnesota).

As impressive as he is on offense, it’s the defensive side of him and those interceptions that the Wildcat staff saw. Dylan is a lock down safety and is always heading toward the ball. With the following tweet, the 6-1, 185 Green Dragon wide receiver let everyone know he chose Davidson College to  continue his athletic and academic career.

We caught up with Dylan and asked him about his decision:

WPA: why did you choose Davidson?

Dylan: I chose Davidson because everything felt like home. The academic aspect of Davidso

n is second to none. The coaching staff has been phenomenal with me since day one. They truly felt like I was the missing piece in the formula that they are implementing within the program.

WPA: who was your biggest influence at davidson, who recruited you?

Dylan: Coach Hogan who is the safeties coach and also our areas recruiting coordinator. He was outstanding with me and put it all out on the table with me. There was not beating around the bush with him. We truly built a strong relationship on the field and off.

WPA: what do your parents think of your decision?

Dylan: My parents are completely behind me with my decision. They have a been a huge part of my recruiting process with driving me from place to place every weekend. I can’t thank them enough for the support I’ve have from them throughout the whole thing.

WPA: what are they getting in player like you?

Dylan: I feel like they are getting a guy that is never going to stop working hard to perfect what I’m doing. I’m the weight room, on the field, film, and I’m the classroom I’ll never stop working hard. Most importantly though I take pride in being coachable and learning from my mistakes on the fly or over film work.

WPA: what position will you play?

Dylan: I will be playing on the defensive side of the ball at safety.

WPA: why commit early?

Dylan: I don’t feel like I committed too early, but I did now because I wanted to get it out of the way and focus solely on my senior season. And with Davidson I was able to do that because I knew I wanted to be there, I knew that I would fit in the system and make it a new home.

WPA: what was the recruiting process like for you?

Dylan: It was a process. A lot of ups and a lot of downs. But it made me more motivated on and off the field to prove to coaches who I was.

WPA: Do you know what you’d like to study?

Dylan:  I am interested in studying for an educational path. With my parents working in schools it wore off on me and I love working with kids. But right out of college I hope to be able to swing right into college coaching and at Davidson they have guys everywhere coaching so it sets me up very well with opportunities.

WPA: What do you think is the most exciting thing about Davidson University?

Dylan:  I feel like it’s the coaching staff that is in their first year. Coach Abell and his staff are in their first year. He has a tradition of turning programs around for the better and just known as a winner. A lot of great guys on the staff that love what they do for sure. Also the support from the alumni and the community is extremely strong.

WPA: How will this affect your play for the rest of your senior season?

Dylan: Dylan:  It won’t affect my play much, I’ll still be motivated and set on the goal we set at the beginning of the year.
