The Jersey Shore Bulldogs and Milton Black Panthers squared off in Danville Friday night in a game where coach Gravish and the Bulldog’s offense exploded in a 62-7 victory. The leader of the Bulldogs offense was Junior receiver Cooper Peacock. Peacock managed to get the hat trick scoring three touchdowns in the game. 

The scoring started early for the Bulldogs. After a high snap that went behind Bray Jordan’s head, he was able to recover, scramble, and find Peacock for the 21-yard touchdown. The following Bulldog possession Peacock would find the endzone again, this time from five yards out on a jet sweep. Breck Miller nailed the extra point giving the Bulldogs an early 14-0 lead. Miller would go 6 for 7 on the night on extra-point attempts as well as having two made field goals. 

Coach Gravish commented on the early scoring plays, “We wanted to get out on the right foot. We didn’t allow them to score and the first seven were big and we had to follow up with another seven. We are in great shape and we played all 48 minutes of the game.”

The next Jersey Shore drive started deep in their own end as on a fourth and goal the defense was able to hold and force a turnover on downs. The Bulldogs were able to drive down the field and Miller nailed a 44-yard field goal attempt. Cayden Hess would be the next Bulldog to score. Brady Jordan found the Senior receiver in the corner of the endzone from 23 yards out. This pushed the Bulldogs lead to 24-0. 

All game the Bulldogs defense was able to dominate the line of scrimmage. And in that case defensive lineman Connor Davis was able to intercept a Milton pass attempt. A few plays later younger brother, Freshman Elijah Jordan found the endzone from five yards out. With the Miller pat, the score sat at 31-0 Bulldogs. Peacock was able to complete his hat trick before halftime as Jordan found him for a 42-yard touchdown. The pat was no good making the score 37-0 which would be the halftime score of the game.

To open the second half Miller led off the Bulldogs scoring. Nailing a 27-yard field goal to extend the lead to 40-0. Brady Jordan was able to throw the ball and rush the ball well Friday night. On the next Bulldogs possession, Jordan took the keeper 48 yards to the house. After a botched snap, the Bulldogs were able to get the ball into the endzone for the two-point conversion.

To start the fourth quarter, on the first play Bulldogs, Gabe Andrus was able to pound the ball in from 11 yards out. The Miller pat extended the lead to 55-0. Milton was able to get on the scoreboard with about nine minutes to go in the game. Brady Wolfe took the quarterback keeper and went 13 yards into the endzone. Trace Witter nailed the pat making the score 55-7. The Bulldogs would find the endzone one more time. From 14 yards out on a jet sweep, Nicholas Williams powered his way and dove across the pylon for the Jersey Shore touchdown. This would make the score 62-7 after the Miller pat and also the final score of Friday night’s contest. 

With the win tonight the Bulldog’s advance to 7-0 on the year and will take on Danville next Friday. “We got great opponents almost every week especially through the rest of the season. We’ve been saying for a couple of weeks now, this is like playoff and we’re treating it like a playoff game and focusing solely on Danville.” Coach Gravish Said after the game. For Milton, this drops them to 5-2 on the year but they will look to bounce back next Friday as they take on Shamokin.
