Mike Pearson Named Mansfield Sprint Football Head Coach

MANSFIELD, Pa. - Mansfield Director of Athletics Andrew Petko has named Mike Pearson the next head football coach for the Mansfield Sprint Football program.
“We are so happy to welcome Mike Pearson to the Mountie Family as Mansfield’s next head sprint football coach,” Petko stated.
“Mountaineer Athletics is thrilled to welcome Coach Pearson to Mansfield,” said Jeff Osgood, Interim President. “His experience and vision will greatly benefit our student-athletes and will position the football program for continued success.”
Pearson comes to Mansfield after serving as head coach at Williamsport High School since 2022.
“It is with great enthusiasm and gratitude that I accept the opportunity to be the next head football coach at Mansfield – serving the community and Mansfield Sprint Football team,” Pearson said. ”I would like to thank President Osgood, Dr. Gretchen Sechrist, Mr. Andrew Petko, the interview committee, and athletic department for the opportunity. One does not replace an outstanding coach such as Coach John Evans. It will be my focus to pick up his dedicated work and continue to help the team grow and represent the very best qualities of the university and the Mansfield Community.”
Pearson has prior experience working in the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL), as well as experience at the NCAA DII and DIII, and high school levels. In the CSFL he started the program and served as head coach at Chestnut Hill from 2015-18.
Pearson also served on Mansfield’s sprint football staff from 2011-14.
Pearson is also a Pennsylvania High School Football Association State Representative and Pennsylvania Big 33 Committee Member. He has served as the PIAA District IV Football Coaches Association Vice President since 2023.
