Milton Advances To 8-1 With 14-7 Win Over Canton

Milton’s number eight, Cale Bastian, scores a touchdown on a quarterback keeper in the first quarter. Despite a strong run by Montgomery Fisher, the Canton defense punches the ball out and recovers the fumble. Milton had a 7-0 lead at the half.
Gary Verdinelli, number 63 for Milton, picks a sack during the second quarter. Then, on fourth and 15, Canton tries to go for it, but Milton’s defense stops them. Ben Fitch, number eight, gets an interception from Cale Bastian on the final play before the half. Milton leads 7-0 at the break.
Gary Verdinelli has his second sack of the game in the third quarter. Luke Goodwin also grabs a sack for Milton.By the end of the third quarter, Milton’s lead remained at 7-0.
Chris Doyle, Milton’s number seven, bursts in for a score in the fourth quarter, putting Milton ahead 14-0. On a quarterback draw, Logan Zarr, wearing number 59 for Milton, records a tackle for loss. Holden Ward, Canton’s number two, runs on the quarterback keeper for the touchdown. On the final play of the game, Canton attempts to drive down the field. Ben Fitch, number eight, throws a last-ditch Hail Mary, but Milton’s defense prevents them from scoring.
