Sayre earned their first victory on the season on the visiting Northwest Rangers. Sayre won the toss and elected to receive the opening kickoff. They were forced to punt on the opening drive, but the Rangers fumbled the punt, and the Redskins took over on the Rangers side of the 50. Later in the drive, Sayre would try to convert a fourth down, but Northwest stuffed them. The Rangers had a run by Dom Cavuto and gained a first down. The next play Northwest fumbled the exchange and Sayre took over. Sayre had another 3 and out and Northwest stopped them again on fourth down and took over. The first play on Northwest ensuing drive Cavuto had a big run but the yardage was called back due to an unsportmans like conduct after the play. The first quarter would end all tied up at 0.
Northwest would open the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown by Jace McCoy, the extra point was missed, and the Rangers took a 6-0 lead with 8:12 left in the first half. Sayre would drive down the field and scored with a one-yard touchdown from Karter Green and Sayre took a 7-6 with over two minutes left in the half. Northwest punted on their next drive. Sayre took the lead into halftime.

The Rangers’ opening possession of the second half ended in a punt. Green would look back to pass and was picked off by Ben Bonham. The Rangers drove down the field and McCoy scored his second touchdown of the night, and the Rangers took a 12-7 lead. Sayre responded on the next drive with a 60-yard touchdown by Green, they went for two and were successful, Sayre took a 15-12 lead in the third.

Northwest was threating and be on the redskin 5, but penalties would cause them too have a 3rd and goal from the 32, McCoy looked back to pass and was Intercepted, Sayre took over, the ran the clock down with 8 minutes to go in the game before the rangers stopped them on fourth down. McCoy and the Rangers had 8 minutes to go 75 yards. The Rangers would be on a fourth and goal from the 10 with two minutes to go they looked to tie the game with a field goal, but it was blocked, and Sayre took it back and took a 21-12 lead. The Rangers tried to score late in game but were stopped. Sayre got their first victory of the season.
Northwest heads back to Shickshinny next week for their homecoming game against Montgomery. Sayre looks to continue their win streak as they travel to South Williamsport.
