Selinsgrove Wins District 4 Class 4A Championship For The First Time Since 2017

The Seals defense causes a fumble in the first quarter and recovers it. The Seals take a 7-0 lead when Mark Pastore finds wide-open Gavin Bastian with a deep pass. After that, the seals score their second touchdown of the game, this time on a deep pass from Mark Pastore to Gavin Bastian. At the half, Selinsgrove leads 14-0.

Tate Sechrist, number 31 for Jersey Shore, runs into the end zone for a touchdown in the second quarter, bringing the score to 14–7. Then Mark Pastore scores on a quarterback sneak as the Seals advance down the field. The score is now 20-7 as Carter Young fails to convert the field goal on the extra point attempt.

Gavin Bastian easily scores another touchdown in the closing seconds of the second quarter thanks to a deep pass from Mark Pastore, giving him three touchdowns for the game.

At the half the score is 27-7 with all momentum on the Seals.

Carter Young’s field goal in the third quarter puts the Seals ahead 30–7. Jerrin Loomis passes to Tate Sechrist, who scores the touchdown. The attempt at an extra point was unsuccessful, leaving the score at 30–13.

Then, in the run game, Tucker Teats gets hot and scores a touchdown run of 87 yards. Tucker Teats replaces previous leader Juvon Batts from the top dog position with that touchdown, setting a new record for the Seals for the amount of running touchdowns.

Jerrin Loomis then throws a 32-yard touchdown pass to Payton Whitman. By the end of the third quarter, the Seals led 37-19 after Shore attempted a two-point convert.

In the fourth quarter, Mark Pastore throws to Andrew Sassaman, who was wide open in the end zone, for a touchdown after faking a handoff and taking the defense by surprise.
