
Troy’s Smith Named PIAA Football Coach of the Year

Troy’s Jim Smith was named PIAA Football Coach of the Year on Monday, October 6.
Smith helped guide the Trojans to a perfect 16-0 season, including a thrilling 25-24 win over Central Clarion in last year’s Class 2A championship game at Chapman Field.
Smith has compiled a 120-47 (0.719) record since taking over the program in 2011. He’s also won two District IV Class 2A title (2024 & 2013).
In all, 25 coaches were honored by the PIAA from the 2024-25 season.
