Southern Columbia racked up nearly 300 yards on the ground and took advantage of early second half mistakes by the Crusaders en route to a 24-7 victory Friday night at Lehighton.
After the teams exchanged first drive scores, there would be no further scoring until the second half. The opening kickoff was received by Lansdale Catholic at their own 2-yard line and a bad snap resulted in a safety. Another bad snap was recovered on the 2, resulting in a Grady Garcia touchdown. Ayden Hockenbroch accounted for the other two scores on the night, from 13 and 33 yards.
Meanwhile, the Tigers defense stifled the Crusaders, holding them to 71 yards on the ground and 154 through the air. The Crusaders were flagged nine times for 74 yards, while the Tigers committed only two penalties on the night.
