Somerset – One year ago, Westinghouse had to hold on for a dramatic 35-34 victory over Windber; it was a much different story Thursday night. Berlin had a hard time holding on to House QB Keyshawn Morsillo.

Westinghouse dominated previously unbeaten Berlin-Brothersvalley in all aspects of the game, up a 59-7 rout of the Mountaineers to claim their second consecutive sub-regional crown.

The Bulldogs scored more points in three quarters than Berlin’s previous eleven opponents combined. The Mountaineers tossed seven consecutive shutouts to begin the year and finished with eight total.

Berlin came into the game, surrendering only 39 points all season.

Westinghouse scored 34 in the first half and added 25 more in the third quarter.

The Bulldogs scored on their first five possessions, with Khalil Taylor getting the icebreaker with a 4-yard run capping a 98-yard drive.

Following a Deshaun Blackwell interception that set up Westinghouse at the Berlin 20-yard line, quarterback Keyshawn Morsillo scored on a 3-yard run.

The Mountaineers were able to move the football in the first half driving to the Bulldog’s 20-yard line on their third possession, only to have the football end up in the hands of Taymir O’Neal, who returned the fumble 76 yards for a touchdown.

Westinghouse added two more touchdowns in the second quarter as Taylor scored on a 22-yard run and Morsillo from three yards out, capping 81 and 91-yard drives, respectively.

Berlin beat the clock to close out the first half scoring their only touchdown of the night on a fourth-down pass from Pace Prosser to Will Latuch, covering 23 yards with 25 seconds to play in the second quarter.

Prosser led the Mountaineers going 14-for-28 for 153 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

Keyshawn Morsill then tossed three straight touchdown passes to begin the second half and invoke the mercy clock.

Davon Jones scored on passes of 49 and 32 yards from Morsillo, while O’Neal added a 58-yard reception.

The Bulldogs sent two receivers over the century mark as Jones caught five passes for 136 yards while Sincere Smith hauled in four passes for 108 yards.

Morsillo completed 12-of-14 passes for 339 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for 74 yards and two scores.

Shaun Robinson closed the scoring with a 39-yard touchdown run with 27 seconds to play in the third quarter. Robinson rushed for 57 yards on six carries, and Khalil Taylor led the Bulldogs with ten rushes for 78 yards and two touchdowns.

Westinghouse now sits at 11-0 on the season and will move on the play the District IX champion, either Central Clarion or Brookville.
