Coach says “Mark has really embraced offseason work since I became head coach at Claysburg. He works extremely hard, invests time in workouts and understands what he needs to do. He brings a personality to the team that provides leadership and sets the example for the underclassmen. He really has helped set the tone of our program”.

“Peanut”?
I got my nickname the day i was born by my older sister aaliyah …. my fathers name is mark also and she refused to call me by my name so she called me peanut
Why do you play football?
I play football because I grew up playing and truly enjoy the sport.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
Saquon Barkley, because he is a smart player and knows how to run the ball.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
Inside zone. It was my very first varsity touchdown.
What was last years season like for you?
Last year was a growing year for me. It helped me learn and prepare for my senior season.
What are your goals for this coming season?
My goal this season is to rush for 1,000 yards.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
Pace Prosser from Berlin
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
Penn State vs Ohio State game. When Penn State blocked the field goal and ran back for a touchdown to win the game.
What would you do to improve the recruiting process?
To improve the recruiting process I would have them come to more games.
Describe what the perfect teammate is
The perfect teammate is someone who can lead by example and listen to others advice. It is also someone who controls their attitude and effort.
Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community
Football is good for a community because it gives people an opportunity to come together and support one another.
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
I’d love to throw the football in a regular season game.
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
Coach Kassick, because he is a great teacher and role model for our team. I aspire to eventually be such a great coach and person like him.
What is your favorite practice drill? What is your least favorite practice drill?
My favorite practice drill is quick offense and my least favorite practice drill are up-downs.

Fun because it brings our team together.
Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?
My sister’s (Avionna and Aaliyah) They come to every game and don’t miss a single thing.
When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
Fishing and hunting because I enjoy being outside.
What is your favorite play to run?
Inside zone, it’s my favorite because I get to run the ball.

No, because a hot dog is on a roll and not a bun.

The best thing i ever got from a teammate was the ability to push myself hard and be the best player I can be.

The first football game I saw was a Claysburg-Kimmel football game.
