WORDS FROM THE HEAD COACH:
Braden has been a 3-year starter for us and lettered as a Freshman as well. He has been one of our better and most dependable players. Offensively, we can move him around to various skill positions and he has been successful for us. Braden has even been our emergency QB the past few seasons due to other injuries, and he has run our offense efficiently. Defensively, he has shown the same versatility. He is one of those football players that is just a “natural” at the game.

What is the best part of being a student-athlete at Homer-Center High School?
The atmosphere that revolves around the school district and the athletics.
How long have you been playing football(any level) ?
This year will be my 10th year playing football.
Of all the road games you have played, which stadium had the best overall atmosphere, along with what made it so good ?
Northern Cambria’s field has been the most electric in my opinion. The games are always so close when we play there and the fans take part in the energy that the game gives off.
If the game is on the line, do you want to be on offense or defense ? Explain
I want to be on defense 100%. I would rather make a huge stop on defense than score a touchdown to win the game.
As an athlete, what has been your biggest achievement ?
I think my biggest achievement as an athlete would be starting as a freshman in all 3 sports that I play.
What was the high point of the 2023 season ?
I think the high point of our 2023 season was just staying together as one family. We struggled throughout the year, but that didn’t stop us from going to work everyday and getting better throughout the season.
What are you going to miss the most from the class of 2024 ?
The leadership. I played with them from 3rd grade up to this past year and they were never afraid to step up and take charge.
What are your goals for the 2024 season ?
Our main goal is ultimately win the heritage conference and then win the district title, but it’s going to take an effort from everyone.
Who is your favorite sports star and why ?
My favorite sports star is probably Saquon Barkley. I’ve been watching him play since he was at Penn State and I took inspiration from him.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most ? Explain:
During the 2023 season, I filled in as quarterback after our starter and backup got hurt. I scrambled out to the left on a pass play and redirected to the right after going right through the defensive line and ended up running for 34 yards, the same number as my jersey. It was kind of special.
Who is the best player(s) you have ever lined up against and what team did they play for ?
Definitely Lou Schwartz of West Shamokin or Carter Smith of Penns Manor.
What stadium, (HS/College/Pro) would you love to visit for a game?
I would love to go to SoFi stadium in LA to watch the Rams play.
What is your favorite Pro Sports team(any sport) ? Explain:
My favorite pro sports team is probably the LA dodgers or the NY Giants.
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why ?
My favorite game I’ve watched was the 2016 Penn State vs Ohio State white-out game when Penn State upset Ohio State. The game was really intense and the atmosphere was incredible.
What sports movie could you watch every day if you had to pick one, and why ?
Remember the Titans. This movie is absolutely incredible and is hands down one of the best movies in general not just sports related.
Name one thing you’d love to do in football that may never happen ?
Win a State Title.
Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
Lacrosse.
What is your most embarrassing sports moment ?
When I tripped over first base in a college baseball showcase in front of college recruiters.
When you aren’t playing, practicing, or training for sports, what is your go to activity, and why ?
Either playing golf with my friends or fishing because both are very relaxing and it’s a way to get your mind off of things if you need to.
Which one, Sheetz, Wawa, or Rutters ? Explain:
Sheetz. There is no other place I would rather go to for pre game snacks.
What is your favorite vacation destination ?
Ocean City, Maryland or Niagara Falls, NY.
Tell us something that you have a fear of ?
Spider
Favorite Fast Food/Burger place and why ?
Probably Chic-Fil-A or Chipotle if that counts.
Have you ever been to a professional sports game, which ones ?
I’ve been to multiple Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers games.
NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAAF, NFL, Which league is the best and why ?
NCAAF. There is nothing better than turning the TV on during college game day and watching two of the best college football teams go head-to-head.
What is your favorite video game, on mobile and or console ?
Definitely Madden or MLB the Show.
What toppings go on your favorite pizza ?
Pepperoni.

Airplane, Boat, or Vehicle(motorcycles included), how would you travel and to where ?
I would travel by plane to Hawaii or the Caribbean.
Name one thing in life(NOT SPORTS RELATED) you would like to achieve:
I would love to become a certified physical therapist.
Location you think would be the best place to live(ie: island, mountains, city, etc) ? Explain why:
I think the best place to live would be the mountains. I think it would be peaceful and I could find streams to fish and enjoy nature.
