Coach says: “On the defensive side, Michael Wano has emerged as a dominant force on the line. “After reviewing last season’s graded film, Michael was clearly the most disruptive defensive lineman on our team—possibly in the entire league,” said Dalton. “We’re expecting big things from him this year. His leadership and work ethic make him an invaluable part of our defense.”
Let’s get to know Michael!
Why do you play football?
I think the reason I started playing football was because I love to run around but also run into things so football for me had the best of both worlds and I remember watching it on Tv as well.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
Jerome Bettis is the reason I loved to run the ball. He for me has changed the way I run the ball and how he was a big back and made the game of running so good.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
My favorite memory was in my last game of peewees I got to play quarterback for two players against Indiana and I also scored a 74 yard touchdown. In my opinion, that is my favorite game of all time.
What was last years season like for you?
I think last season was a great season, we all got along so well as a team and it was sad we couldn’t get over that hump but I had a pretty good year and hope to do better next year.
What are your goals for this coming season?
To win the conference and to be the best Defensive Player in the conference and county.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
I don’t have a specific player that was hard to go against but last year Cambria heights had a very good line and made defense hard.
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
Ohio State winning the national championship had me in joy.
Describe what the perfect teammate is
One who is willing to push you and wants you to be at your best.
Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community
I think football is so great for the community is because it really brings everyone together and it’s one of those sports that everyone can come out and see.
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
Play a drive at wide receiver during a game.
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
I think all my coaches and my family is a big part of my mentoring and I’m very thankfully to have them all.
What is your favorite practice drill? What is your least favorite practice drill?
Favorite practice drill is 1 vs 1 and least favorite drill is probably most of the running ones.

Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?
I think all my grandparents support me in their own ways and I’m very thankful to have them.
When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
My go to activity hands down is getting to see my girlfriend, probably 95% of the time if I’m not doing anything I’m with my girlfriend.
What is your favorite play to run?
Right up the middle.

Best thing you ever got from a teammate? Why?
One time one of them bought me food and I love food so it meant a lot.

Pepperoni
What is your favorite vacation destination?
The beach
Do you remember what the first football game you saw was?
I don’t remember who they were playing but it was the Steelers and I feel in love with them after that.
