Let’s get to know Coby!

Why do you play football?

I play football because of the family it creates and the MANY things it teaches you. There is no better feeling than walking out on a Friday night. I’ve played all the way from flag football, up to pee-wee, junior high, and now high school.

It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?

I’m looking forward to that first whistle

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

Saquon Barkley because I’ve watched him ever since he was at Penn St. and now plays for the Eagles. He’s just a hard worker, and someone I strive to be.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

My freshman year, we were at Everett. I was playing safety at the time, and I had my first career interception.

What was last years season like for you?

Last years season was challenging. We were winless in our 10 games. We had a injury ridden season, which led to low numbers. There was no doubt though that we showed up each and every day, despite how tough it was, getting better as a team.

What are your goals for this coming season?

My goals for this upcoming season are to win. We want to win ballgames. I am very confident that we can get that done this season. We have a big group of seniors and juniors returning.

Who is the best player you ever lined up against?

Probably Ethan Black, plays WR at Penn State

When the game is on the line, which college/professional coach would you like to call in the play?

Nick Saban

What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?

I would love to visit UCLA’s, Rose Bowl Stadium for a game.

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?

Pittsburgh Pirates

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

Penn St. vs Boise St. in the Fiesta Bowl because it was a very intense and exciting game.

What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?

Happy Gilmore

If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?

Let’s go Coby!!!

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

Play quarterback for a play

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?

I’m more of a self-motivated type of person, so I really am not sure. I would say my family for sure.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:

Tennis

What is your most embarrassing sports moment?

Punting the ball into the stands

If you could only drive one car for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Corvette

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?

I like being outside a lot. Spending time with family.

What is your favorite football memory to date?

Favorite football memory would have to be my first career interception again.

What is your favorite play to run?

Either a short little screen pass or a deep ball.

What scares you the most?

Roller coasters

Music of choice:

Country

What is the most food you ever ate in one sitting?

I would say a whole pizza

What restaurant is your go to when you need a big meal?

Any sports bar and grill

What is your favorite vacation destination?

The beach

Do you remember what the first football game you saw was?

Probably watching my first varsity game, when I was about 8 or 9.
