Coach Says: Bentley is the best overall athlete I have ever coached in terms of running, throwing, and football IQ on offense and defense.
Why do you play football?
Football is life! I’ve loved football ever since I was 3 years old, it’s been a blast playing in the yard with friends and family to now playing Friday nights with more friends and family. It’s been a goal of mine since I was little to play in the nfl and like Tom Petty said I’m “running down a dream”.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
Tom Brady because he’s been my idol ever since I was little. He is the GOAT and I’ve always wanted to be just like him.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
Last play of the game against Bishop Guilfoyle. I got to take a knee to cap of a 10-0 regular season and a conference championship.
What was last years season like for you?
Gratifying. We’ve worked so hard as a team and seeing it come together like it did was a great thing.
For me personally I think it was a big step up and it felt like I played my best I could have. I was a team captain, I played Qb,Db, and punter and made all state.
What are your goals for this coming season?
Team goal- To win a state title
Personal goals- To break the school passing touchdowns in a season record, and on defense I want to break the all time career interception record which I’m at 17 and 1 away from the current record.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
3 star Wr Rutgers commit Arnold Mugerwa. We always have great battles and get another one this year.
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
We had a lot of special games last year so it’s hard to answer. The Forest Hills game last year was the craziest game l’ve ever been a part of. It was an offensive shootout, we went back and fourth for three quarters. We were losing 41-38 going into the fourth quarter and put up 35 unanswered winning 73-47.
Describe what the perfect teammate is
Someone who elevates everyone around them and pushes everyone to be the best they can be.
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
My mentor and person I want to be like is my dad. He is one of the most fun and nicest people you will ever meet. He’s sacrificed so much time and energy into helping me along my journey in life and has taught me so many important lessons. He’s someone who a lot of people look up to and I’m super blessed to be able to call him my best friend!
What is your favorite practice drill? What is your least favorite practice drill?
Our 2 minute offense drill is definitely my favorite, it’s high energy and everybody is locked in. My least favorite is 100% our tackle circuit because it’s basically just turf burn simulator.
Preseason Two a Days are:
Are a great time and help build the family culture we strive for.
Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?
I would say my uncle. Where do I start, he has a drone at every 7on7 so I have film to watch, he makes huge banners for our yard, sends messages and gives support anytime and just wants me to be the best version of myself everyday.
When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
I like to play Madden or ncaa 26 on my Xbox.
What is your favorite play to run?
It’s top secret!
is a hot dog a sandwich? If not, then why?
HECK NO! Has anyone ever put lettuce, tomato or cucumbers on a hot dog? NO! It’s not a sandwich.
Music of choice:
I got my music taste from my dad so I would say rock and newer metal.
Best pizza topping?
I’m a Ham and pineapple kinda guy.
What is your favorite vacation destination?
I would say a beach or even a cruise. It’s just a relaxing time and I love being in the ocean with the waves.
Do you remember what the first football game you saw was?
I don’t really remember a specific game but my family took me to a ton of Penn state football games when I was little so it was a Penn state game
