On a cool, autumn night in Millersburg the Juniata Indians had plenty to feel good about as they defeated Millersburg 55-7 on Friday night.

A huge night from both freshman quarterback Jake Condo and junior wingback Ty Martin led the way for Juniata. Condo threw for two touchdowns and was able to rush for two more. While Martin caught both touchdowns passes and rushed for two of his own. Martin finished the night with over 230 all-purpose yards for the Juniata Indians.

The Indians first defensive drive they were able to force a fumble. From that point on, it was all downhill for Millersburg. By the end of the first half, Ty Martin would already have all 4 of his touchdowns on the night, and Millersburg would be down 41-7.

When speaking after the game, coach Gary Klingensmith said, “It was nice to see the kids get in the win column again. They came in, right from the get-go and played hard.”

With a huge halftime lead, the Indians seemingly capped the game off in the third quarter with Martin’s brother, Trent, making a 30-yard interception return for a touchdown.

From that point on, the Indians were able to rest the majority of their starters, ride the game out, and return to Mifflintown with their second win.

When asked about Ty Martin, Klingensmith said, “Just a fantastic athlete. He’s been consistent for us all year long. He does all the little things right, he’s a coachable kid who plays hard. He plays both ways and it showed out there tonight.”

The Indians (2-7) now will look to finish their season strong in front of their home fans as they take on Newport (2-7) in the final week of the regular season.
