The Eagles have been grounded. The Tyrone Golden Eagles were run over by the Bald Eagle run game, namely running back Cameron Dubbs. The 5-10, 175 pound senior pounded out over 190 yards and four tds to help BEA pull away from Tyrone to extend the BEA record to 4-0. BEA jumped out to a 21-0 lead only to see Tyrone close it to 21-19 at halftime thanks to 3 Bald Eagle turnovers. Dubbs scored twice and Cam Watkins ran one in to give the Bald Eagles a quick lead early into the second quarter.
Tyrone started their comeback with a fumble and 69 yard td pass from Ashton Walk to Brady Ronan, the a strip of the ball that turned into a 63 fumble return by Lukas Walk. Then Walk hit AJ Coleman to pull the Golden Eagles within two points.
“We just overcame turnovers and we made some adjustments to control the second half” said BEA head coach Jesse Nagle. “They were getting pressure on us early. Braden Ewing and Andrew Weaver gave us fits. If it weren’t for Carson running around and making plays we’d have been in trouble. They have one of the best coaches of all time. They’ll be trouble in the future”. Nagle threw for over 300 yards and two tds.
BEA got their third td from Dubbs to make it 28-0 but Tyrone kept coming. A field goal again closed the gap but BEA pulled away in the fourth quarter to get the win.
BEA faces Philipsburg-Osceola (who gave Penns Valley a close battle last night) next week and Tyrone gets a reeling Bellwood-Antis in the backyard brawl.
