Bishop Carroll Foreits to Bellefonte

The forfeit epidemic continues to strike.  Last night the Bellefonte staff was notified that Bishop Carroll is forfeiting their game Friday night due to roster size and injuries. This comes on the heals of Philipsburg-Osceola cancelling their last two games with Clearfield and Penns Valley.  Clearfield is also concerned because they are scheduled to face Bishop Carroll next week. “We’re going to go ahead with our senior night activities on Friday night. I hate it for the kids but what can I do?” said Bellefonte head coach Shannon Manning.

Bellefonte released this statement: “Last night, the athletic department at Bellefonte Area School District was informed that its football game on Friday will be forfeited due to a decision by Bishop Carroll. It was to be senior night and we will continue with plans to recognize the deserving senior members of the football team, cheerleading squad and members of band. Please join us 6:30 p.m. at Rogers Stadium for the celebration. Free admittance and the concession stand will be open with a limited menu of hotdogs, fries and drinks. We will still be doing a food drive for the Bellefonte food bank, so please bring a canned good to fill the truck and get a free admission ticket for a future district-sponsored athletic event. We hope to see you there!”
