The Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders faced McCort last night in the last home game of their season. BG cruised past McCort, winning by a score of 42-0, to improve to 6-3 on the year.

The game started off as more of a low scoring affair, with BG chewing the clock for most of the first half, only being up by two touchdowns at intermission. However, the defense prevailed, one only allowed McCort into the red zone one time.

Guilfoyle’s offense came to life in the second half, scoring another 28 points, behind impressive rushing performances on the ground from RB Cooper Rother and QB Karson Kiesewetter. Through the air, FB Drew Abraham had a long receiving touchdown.

The offensive line had a nice game as well in the trenches, with Anthony Edwards; Colin Butler and company throwing in many relentless pancake blocks. On the other side of the ball, the DBs held McCorts passing attempt in check for the entire game. The front seven, including DEs Noah Ritchey and PJ Pullock, who each had multiple sacks, slowed both the passing and rushing attack of McCort.

The Marauders play the Bedford Bison next week at Bedford to end the regular season.
